Job Brief

The selected candidate will provide technical support to SRP internal clients. The Data Center is a 24X7, 365-day per year environment, requiring staffing assignments to accommodate business needs.

Job Responsibilities

  • Administration of event management and system monitoring platforms
  • Administration and management of data center infrastructure resources
  • Monitor and research application and system performance issues and produce reporting related to application performance, event management, capacity management, including on premise and cloud resources
  • Job scheduling in mainframe & distributed environments using Control-M or other enterprise workload automation system
  • System administration of Control-M workload automation system
  • Resolve production system batch job abends as instructed by job documentation & interaction with application support staff
  • Assist in problem determination & resolution of operational issues with multiple Data Center systems
  • Produce & review documentation for the operations production environment, change implementation & user requests
  • The Analyst will also have responsibilities for backfilling incident management issues & have direct interaction with Data Center stakeholders
  • Participate in the on call rotation to support overnight & weekend operations
  • Support data center systems as assigned

Education

Completion of a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution that prepares the employee for the assignment.

Experience

Promotion to Level 2 requires a minimum of two years of experience at Level 1; demonstrated capability to perform advanced and more difficult work as determined by the supervisor. Promotion to Senior Level requires a minimum of three-years of experience at Level 2; is fully competent in all aspects of functional area of assignment and as such would be recognized as a specialist in area of assignment and may have periodic or occasional lead responsibilities.

Additional Information

Required knowledge and skills:

  • Experience implementing and administering data center infrastructure management (DCIM) tools
  • Experience monitoring end-to-end application and infrastructure performance and health using multiple tools.
  • Requires strong technical skills with a knowledge of IT-related production processes and the ability to balance team workload, priorities, and expectations
  • Ability to conduct clear and effective two-way communication, verbal and electronic, with team members and vendors as well as, internal and external customers
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in a team as well as work independently when necessary
  • Organization skills and the ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously
  • Exceptional analytical, problem solving, and technical troubleshooting skills
  • Knowledge of data center operations best practices and  ITIL process framework
  • Provide excellent customer service to Data Center stakeholders

     

    Preferred skills:

  • Programming experience leveraging API’s and developing system integrations using various scripting tools (Perl, Python, Unix shells, Java, Powershell)
  • Experience with infrastructure process automation and supporting DevOps
  • Experience working with internal technical teams to ensure disaster recovery preparedness to recover infrastructure and applications per Recovery Time Objectives (RTO) and Recovery Point Objectives (RPO).
  • Experience working with vendor partners to facilitate delivery of standard based infrastructure services

     

  • Optional Skills:
  • Perform installation of physical equipment and operations duties for data center infrastructure, as required
  • Basic understanding of electrical and mechanical systems in the Data Center environment.
  • Experience using TSO/ISPF and JCL in a CICS/DB2 z/OS mainframe environment
