Job Brief

The selected GIS Application Developer Senior will develop, configure, and support GE Smallworld GIS software applications and infrastructure, as a member of the ITS Enterprise Spatial & Mobility Services (ES&MS) team. 

Job Responsibilities

  • Designs, develops, tests, debugs, and implements software applications in accordance with specifications and business needs 

  • Develops program logic for new application or analyzes and modifies logic in existing applications. 

  • Analyzes requirements, tests and integration application components. 

  • Ensures that application improvements are successfully implemented. 

  • Typically works on a defined project and may work in a highly efficient (“Agile”) development environment. 

  • Applies knowledge of GIS technology and strategies to the application. 

Education

Completion of a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution that prepares the employee for the assignment.

Experience

Promotion to Level 2 requires a minimum of two years experience at Level 1 and demonstrated capability to perform advanced and more difficult work as determined by the supervisor. Promotion to Senior Level requires a minimum of 3 years experience at Level 2, is fully competent in all aspects of functional area of assignment and as such would be recognized as a specialist in area of assignment and may have periodic or occasional lead responsibilities.

Additional Information

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, Computer Systems Engineering, GIS or a related field preferred.

Prefer a minimum two (2) years' experience as a GE Smallworld Magik software developer

OR

Minimum four (4) years experience using GE Smallworld GIS software applications + knowledge of software development languages & concepts.

Special consideration given to applicants who have software development and/or GIS experience.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be results oriented, with demonstrated ability to deliver solutions that solve business problems.

SRP currently offers a hybrid workplace, which allows employees whose jobs can be performed remotely, and who have sufficient technical capability, to telework up to three days per week. Although teleworking is available, all employees must live and work in Arizona.
