Summary

What It Takes To Succeed

Responsible for project budgets and schedules. Occasional contacts with customers and outside agencies. Contacts with suppliers of equipment and services. Occasional travel to suppliers facilities, industry organizational functions and SRP facilities. Ability to work effectively with various organizational groups within SRP. Ability to use engineering tools required for the job (i.e., computer, test equipment, etc.).

Experience

Five (5) years full time experience actively engaged in engineering practice. Must have demonstrated the successful accomplishment of work of the nature defined for the job of Senior Engineer.

Promotion to Level 2 requires a minimum of two years of experience at Level 1; demonstrated capability to perform advanced and more difficult work as determined by the supervisor. Promotion to Senior Level requires a minimum of three years of experience at Level 2; is fully competent in all aspects of functional area of assignment and as such would be recognized as a specialist in area of assignment and may have periodic or occasional lead responsibilities.

Education

A bachelor’s degree in a related field from an accredited institution is required and a master’s degree in the area of specialty is preferred.

Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior ERP Application Developer specializing in WorkForce Software (WFS) Time and Attendance configuration. This role involves configuring, maintaining, and supporting WFS solutions, ensuring seamless integration with HR and payroll systems. The ideal candidate will have experience in system configuration, troubleshooting, and technical support, with a strong understanding of workforce management software processes.

What You'll Do

Configuration & Implementation:

Configure WFS Time and Attendance modules, including pay rules and schedule configurations.
Customize workflows and business rules to align with company policies and labor regulations.
Conduct system testing, validation, and troubleshooting.

Technical Support & Maintenance:

Provide ongoing technical support and issue resolution for WFS users.
Monitor system performance, troubleshoot errors, and implement enhancements.

What It Takes To Succeed

Technical Skills:

Strong knowledge of WFS configuration, pay rules, and scheduling.

Summary

The specialist will be responsible for field project management and quality control inspections of SRP and SRP contracted civil and general utility construction. Includes testing and approval of materials, provided services, verification of construction workmanship, site safety requirements and coordination of work hours and equipment. Will assist in the development of project schedules, manpower and supporting staff requirements. Will be involved in various phases of engineering (design, design overview, design changes, pre-bid and construction meetings and installation records), construction contract administration and quality control. The specialist will have a significant role in total project management endeavoring to produce a product functioning as designed, completed safely, on schedule and within budget. Projects will include a wide range of SRP facilities including but not limited to distribution, transmission, substation, generation, water delivery and hydro generation.

What You'll Do

Perform field testing of civil materials or schedule/coordinate such testing with civil material testing firms. Must be knowledgeable and experienced in civil material testing that includes but is not limited to: soils, aggregates, cemetitious materials and asphaltic concrete. Testing and sampling to include at a minimum: field density testing using nuclear and sand cone methods, sampling and testing of aggregates, slump, unit weight, temperature and air entrainment of concrete, sampling of concrete for compression testing, coring of concrete and asphaltic pavement, field sampling of asphaltic concrete, Marshall testing and density of asphalt using nuclear methods.
Knowledgeable and experienced in laboratory testing of civil materials. Includes sieve analysis, Atterberg limit, moisture/density relationship, moisture/density measurements using ring samples, direct shear, consolidation of soils, swelling pressure, collapse potential, resistance value (R-value), gyratory compaction, Marshall test, extraction and gradation of asphalt, flexural strength of shotcrete panels and compression of soils, concrete cylinders, mortar cubes, grout prisms and masonry units.
Must also be capable of verifying structural bolted connections using turn-of-the-nut method and be familiar with different grades of fastener material.
Knowledge of conductor installation, conductor sagging, transmission tower and pole assembly preferred.
Collects data, reviews and comments on engineering design and constructability for compliance with SRP standards. Will also interface with engineer and construction forces in regards to design drawing and specification interpretation.
Reviews and comments on material availability and usage.
Reviews and monitors construction schedule to insure its feasibility and alerts responsible engineer and management of possible problem areas.
Maintains complete daily log to include cost trends and comments of possible change orders for regular reports to management as required.
Prepares routine and special reports designed to inform responsible engineer or management in a timely manner of the need for action and decision as required.
Monitors construction progress in the field and coordinates activity as required to maintain job progress and adherence to schedule. Responsible for verification of work completed by contractor for progress payments as required.
Determines if the construction forces have complied with the safety, design and construction requirements and specifications and has authority and responsibility to direct construction forces to meet these requirements up to and including stopping work activities.
Resolve errors, omissions and/or problems with little or no direction from the responsible engineer.
Resolves procurement problems of owner or contractor furnished materials delivered to job site by SRP or material supply house personnel.
May perform duties of company Radiation Safety Officer (RSO).
Responsible for completing any other duties as assigned.

What It Takes To Succeed

Education Requirements:

Level	Requirement
1	High School Diploma or GED
2	Level 1 requirement PLUS Minimum of 15 college credit hours in a discipline related to civil construction or equal. (i.e. Civil Engineering, Engineering Construction, General Applied Sciences, Business, Project Management or coursework pursuant to completion of a degree in any of those disciplines).
SR	Level 2 requirements PLUS additional 15 college credit hours (30 total) as outlined above.

Type of Training /Special Licensing:

Nuclear density gage: Radiation safety and operation training classes required as designated by department manager.
American Concrete Institute (ACI): Field, Strength and Aggregates testing certifications preferred.
Arizona Technical Testing Institute (ATTI): Field, Asphalt and Soils/Aggregate testing certifications preferred.

Other Significant Requirements:

Entails significant interaction with SRP's external customers and contractors.
Employee may be required to sign confidentiality statements.

SRP Gila River Power Station is recruiting for a Plant Chemist - Senior Scientist/Engineer Environmental. Located in Gila Bend, Arizona, the Gila River Power Station is home to four combined cycle power blocks. Each power block consists of two combustion turbines, two heat recovery steam generators and one steam turbine. All four blocks combined have a total capacity of 2,200 MW.

Including the normal duties of a Senior Scientist/Engineer Environmental, the position requires monitoring chemical Inventory, ordering bulk chemicals, quality control of all lab procedures, reviewing calibration and maintenance of bench top and continuous sample lab instruments. Supports chemical-related troubleshooting activities on power plant systems and equipment. Inspects equipment and monitor operating conditions, meters, and gauges to determine load requirements and detect malfunctions. Supports and emphasizes the importance of safety and environmental programs and ensures regulatory compliance. Participates in continuous improvement planning and impementation in area of responsibility. Recognizes problems and is proactive in helping to resolve them.

Position will also require experience with process control lab analysis of all plant waters, such as closed cooling water, open circulating cooling water, and feedwater/boiler water systems. Has handled chemicals such as phosphate, polymer, sulfuric acid, sodium hydroxide, corrosion inhibitors, and others. Maintain, review, and interpret analytical data to determine system status, recommend required chemical treatment for operational parameters. Communicates technical information on the condition of plant chemical-related processes/equipment to management and other technical personnel. What You'll Do

Coordinates and consults with SRP construction, engineering, land agent, survey, customer, contractors, developers, owners, and other internal and external stakeholders to develop design layout of electrical facilities that meet SRP safety and standards.

Summary

Operations Specialist Trainee (OST) duties are: Satisfactory completion of all training objectives to develop the skills necessary for promotion to the Operations Specialist position. The OST will be involved in all aspects of operating a power generation facility. Various facilities use operating personnel to perform maintenance functions as well as operations duties. The degree of these maintenance functions will vary between facilities and are not necessarily listed in the bullets below, but are expected of this position. Responsibilities

This position is responsible for the successful completion of the OST curriculum and promotion to the Operator Specialist classification.

Under limited supervision is responsible for learning the facility specific operation of coal, natural gas, and fuel oil fired steam generating units and steam turbine generators, simple cycle gas turbines and combined cycle unit, conventional and pumped storage hydro units, internal combustion engine units, solar powered units, wind powered units and fuel cell powered units, and their related equipment.

What You'll Do

OST is responsible for learning to operate and monitor equipment and auxiliaries by remote control from the control room as well as from throughout the facility using pertinent information from Distributed Control Systems, gauges, instruments, and communication facilities located in the control room and throughout the plant.
OST is responsible for operation of all units in his charge with his related equipment. In addition to his power plant duties, this may include regular O&M duties at the site, including housing areas, civil works, roadways, water or sewer systems, etc.
OST is responsible for learning to coordinate and maintain unit availability with AGC, which includes preparation and planning for load reductions/increases based on system demands. Duties require a complete and thorough knowledge of the entire plant operation as it relates to the generation of power.
OST is responsible for learning to operate units within environmental and SRP guidelines.
OST is responsible for learning how to direct the work of other classifications and assists as directed by others in the completion of tasks.
The OST will be required to train personnel in other classifications in the proper operation of plant equipment, controls, and procedures.
OST is responsible for learning how to evaluate plant processes and issue clearances as needed; this requires a thorough knowledge of the clearance procedure.

Summary

Acts as the Human Resource liaison for all SRP employees. Provides counsel and interpretation on key federal, state and local laws. Assists in formulating, interpreting and administering SRP policies and guidelines. Participates in Union negotiation, Contract administration, Contract training, and preparation for grievances and arbitration.

What You'll Do

Advises management and employees on the interpretation and application of company policies, guidelines, procedures, union contracts, and federal, state, and local laws.

Conducts investigations related to conduct, performance, and/or attendance reliability violations and/or alleged job discrimination, harassment, internal and external equity complaints, etc. Provides recommendations for positive discipline as appropriate.

Participates as a management representative in the grievance/arbitration procedure, union contract discussion and union contract negotiations.

Prepares, counsels, and administers all separations of service.

Partners with other HR departments in order to assist in resolving management and/or employee concerns.

Maintains effective relationships with SRP leadership, employees and Union representatives to assist in problem resolution. Consults on strategic workforce initiatives.

Provides training to SRP leadership and employees on HR policies, guidelines and procedures.

Drafts responses to external charges or inquires for legal review (EEOC/OFCCP).

Recommends and assists in the development of HR policies, guidelines and procedures relating to the employee relations and labor relations function.

Education

A bachelor’s degree related to the assignment from an accredited institution is preferred.

Summary

Oversees a team responsible for all real-time trading and scheduling of electricity, as well as SRP’s engagement in real-time energy markets.

What You'll Do

Manages real-time operations including load forecasting, scheduling of generation resources, scheduling of contract purchases and sales, real-time purchases and sales of energy/capacity, procurement and management of transmission resources, management of fuel resources, coordination of unit outages, and management of reserves to meet system reliability requirements.
Manages development and execution of real-time trading strategies necessary to minimize the cost to serve SRP's retail electricity customers while maintaining position limits within established financial risk tolerances and ensuring reliable supply.
Manages development and execution of trading strategies necessary to maximize the value of excess generation assets in the wholesale market while maintaining position limits within established financial risk tolerances.
Continuously reviews real-time trading positions to ensure that trading limits are not exceeded.
Oversees SRP’s engagement in real-time energy markets. SRP currently participates in the California Independent System Operator’s (CAISO’s) Energy Imbalance Market (EIM).
Engages in efforts to prepare the team for participation in developing and evolving western energy markets, including the Southwestern Power Pool’s (SPP’s) Markets+ and the associated Western Resource Adequacy Program.
Hire, develop, and train new employees.
Oversee department budget.

What It Takes To Succeed

• This position carries significant financial responsibility, as the individual in this role is authorized to independently approve and execute individual physical electricity transactions valued at up to $1 million. Given this level of responsibility, this individual must have excellent judgment and be able to quickly make decisions that are supported by company policy.
• The real-time work environment is highly dynamic. The individual in this role must have the ability to balance multiple priorities and make frequent, quick decisions under pressure.
• This role requires excellent communication skills and is frequently asked to communicate complex real-time operational issues to executive leadership.
• The group consists of employees working on shifts that provide 24x7 coverage. The leader of this team is occasionally required to take calls or meetings outside of normal business hours to ensure continuity.

Experience

A minimum of eight years of related experience is required (if no degree, 12 years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and related experience totaling 12 years).

Summary

Operations Specialist Trainee (OST) at SRP is a Power Plant Control Room Operator Trainee. The OST will start as an outside (auxiliary) Operator during training. Previous experience as an power generation plant control room operator or control room operator trainee is required.

Responsibilities

This position is responsible for the successful completion of the OST curriculum and promotion to the Operator Specialist classification.

Major duties: The duties specified are only those typically required for the job. Duties may include, but are not limited to:

Under limited supervision is responsible for learning the facility specific operation of coal, natural gas and fuel oil fired steam generating units and steam turbine generators, simple cycle gas turbines and combined cycle units, conventional and pumped storage hydro units, internal combustion engine units, solar powered units, wind powered units and fuel cell powered units, and their related equipment.

OST is responsible for learning to operate and monitor equipment and auxiliaries by remote control from the control room as well as from throughout the facility using pertinent information from Distributed Control Systems, gauges, instruments, and communication facilities located in the control room and throughout the plant.
OST is responsible for operation of all units in his charge with his related equipment. In addition to his power plant duties, this may include regular O&M duties at the site, including housing areas, civil works, roadways, water or sewer systems, etc.
OST is responsible for learning to coordinate and maintain unit availability with AGC, which includes preparation and planning for load reductions/increases based on system demands. Duties require a complete and thorough knowledge of the entire plant operation as it relates to the generation of power.
OST is responsible for learning to operate units within environmental and SRP guidelines.
OST is responsible for learning how to direct the work of other classifications and assists as directed by others in the completion of tasks.
The OST will be required to train personnel in other classifications in the proper operation of plant equipment, controls, and procedures.
OST is responsible for learning how to evaluate plant processes and issue clearances, as needed; this requires a thorough knowledge of the clearance procedure.

Training Objective

Training objective is the successful completion of all training curriculum defined by the Operations Specialist Trainee program. All testing and Job Performance Measures must be completed successfully. All training shall be completed within two years from the date of promotion but, with Plant Manager’s agreement, can vary due to work demands. The skill-training curriculums will vary based on business needs.

Skills training can and will change to meet the needs of the facility. Mandatory Regulatory Training will be completed to comply with SRP policy.

Progressionary Training Objectives:

Successful completion of the OST curriculum. Upon completion of the OST curriculum training, progression to the Operator Specialist classification is available without having to wait for there to be an opening in that classification at their current facility. Failure to complete the OST curriculum, testing and Job Performance Measures in the specified amount of time will, at management's discretion, result in an opportunity to bid to another position.

Experience

Must complete at least one year as O&M Specialist III, Operations or equivalent skills and knowledge

Education

High School, GED or Equivalent.

Testing and Certifications

Must possess the appropriate valid Arizona driver’s license.

Appropriate respirator medical certification, fit test and training required.
