Under minimal supervision, performs budget planning and coordinating activities for Agua Fria Generation Station. Provides planning analysis and problem-solving support including the use of various SRP computer systems for developing, monitoring, and managing power plant’ budgets. Provides consultation and guidance to the plant’s management in all phases of budget management. Facilitate regular meetings with plant management to develop, evaluate, review, and approve changes to existing and future O&M and Capital projects. Continually evaluates procedures for efficiency and improvements.

What You'll Do

  • Regular site visits to build relationships and learn about Generation
  • Enter and maintain budgets in Panorama, Copperleaf, & SAP
  • Monitor budget variances, audit for errors and incorrect charges, submit SAP corrections 
  • Prepare monthly variance explanations and year end forecast reports
  • Develop 6-year Financial Plan
  • Provide site and corporate support with site specific questions, special projects, and budget related tasks
  • Assist site with project planning, updating milestones, and monthly cashflow in Panorama
  • Frequent reviews of financial performance and year-end forecast with site managers and engineers
  • Act as liaison between plant planning, purchasing, warehouse, and plant management
  • Review and code plantwide invoices
  • Work with Cost & Plant Accounting to unitize capital projects
  • Project cost analysis of large O&M and Capital projects for Plant Management

Experience

• For a Level 1 (Associate), a minimum of no previous years of experience to two years related experience is required (if no degree, four-six years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and related experience totaling four-six years). • For a Level 2 (Journey), a minimum of two years of experience to four years related experience is required (if no degree, six-eight years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and related experience totaling six-eight years). • For a Level 3 (Senior), a minimum of five years of related experience is required (if no degree, nine years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and related experience totaling nine years).

Education

A bachelor’s degree related to the assignment from an accredited institution is preferred.

 

Hybrid Workplace

SRP currently offers a hybrid workplace, which allows employees whose jobs can be performed remotely, and who have sufficient technical capability, to telework up to three days per week. Although teleworking is available, all employees must live and work in Arizona.
