Summary

Supervises safe and efficient operation and maintenance of all facilities and equipment managed by hydro generation division. Supervises workforce of multiple crafts in all work related to the operation and maintenance of the site, under both routine and emergency conditions.

What You'll Do

  • Supervises in-plant testing of equipment for efficiency and continuity of operation, safety of personnel and equipment and economical production.
  • Prepares detailed reports of operating and maintenance costs, equipment failure and related expenses.
  • Prepares budget for division budgets and administers section's expenses for labor, material, transportation and equipment.
  • Inspects facilities for maintenance, modifications or improvements and construction recommendations.
  • Administers the articles of the union agreement to employees and maintains and promote good labor relations.
  • Administers in-plant training, personnel testing, safety, and promotional advancement programs.
  • Acts as community relations representative with the general public, and governmental agencies.
  • Acts as landlord at SRP housing facilities and serves as SRP "Ambassador" to immediate neighbors at remote locations.
  • Performs related work as required
  • Supervises maintenance and construction by outside divisions during performance of their duties at this site.
  • Acts as Ambassador for SRP in relations with general public, governmental agencies, and business affected by division operations.

Education

A bachelor's degree relevant to the assignment from an accredited institution is preferred.
A high school diploma, GED, or equivalent is required.

Experience

Minimum 6 years of relevant experience required. In lieu of a degree, 10 years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience totaling 10 years may be considered. Experience as supervisor, journeyman plant operator, plant mechanic, electrician, instrument and controls technician, or working foreman involving operation and maintenance of power plant systems and equipment, or equivalent is preferred.

Additional Requirements and Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of principles of power generation, operation and maintenance of generating station equipment, control and protection equipment and items, OSHA and SRP safety standards and environmental regulations.
  • Ability to effectively work with labor relations, budget, corporate procedures and policies, leadership, motivation and training.
  • Strong communication skills are essential. unctional responsibility for outside crews and contractors working on site.
  • May require certification related to asbestos testing, domestic water system operations and wastewater treatment operations.
  • *The schedule for this position is flexible and can be worked as 4x10, 5x8 or 9x9 with alternating Friday's off. 

Testing and Certifications

Must possess the appropriate valid Arizona driver’s license.

 

Hybrid Workplace

SRP currently offers a hybrid workplace, which allows employees whose jobs can be performed remotely, and who have sufficient technical capability, to telework up to three days per week. Although teleworking is available, all employees must live and work in Arizona.
