Job Brief

The Principal Disaster Recovery Analyst is responsible for maintaining the IT technologies and best practices designed to prevent or minimize data loss and business disruption resulting from catastrophic events—everything from equipment failures and localized power outages to cyberattacks, civil emergencies, criminal or military attacks, and natural disasters .This role is also responsible for disaster recovery planning which involves strategizing, planning, deploying appropriate technology, and continuous testing.

Job Responsibilities

• Provide expertise in Disaster Recovery best practices for on premise and public cloud disaster recovery capabilities and alternatives
• Execute/provide leadership in the improvement of SRP DR Architecture and design, test planning and execution, and cost management.
• Provide guidance and expertise in working with application teams utilizing broad Knowledge of Technology - Backup/ Recovery, Mainframe, Server, Storage, DB, On Premise IaaS, Public Cloud DRaaS and IaaS, DR best practice techniques
• Collaborate with Application teams on the design, planning, organizing, documenting, executing and testing of the DR capability
• Partner with business area leaders, Corporate Audit, and Business Continuity and Emergency Management to assess how ITS capabilities align with meeting recovery objectives for systems and data.
• Work collaboratively to complete Disaster Recovery Team improvement objectives to mature preparedness
• Assist in the planning and execution of recovery exercises, working with key stakeholders
• Performs IT studies in areas of Software Development, Database Administration, Data Warehouse Analysis, Systems Programming, Network Engineering, Data Storage, or Unified Communications & Messaging that require a significant knowledge of related fields


 

Education

Completion of a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution plus an additional 18 graduate level college credits in an area of specialty.

Experience

Minimum of 10 years cumulative and progressive post-degree experience
