Serves as a liaison among stakeholders in order to understand the structure, policies, and operations of an organization, and to recommend solutions that enable the organization to achieve its goals.  Supports continuous improvement of technology and processes. Identifies and defines solutions that will maximize the value delivered by an organization to its stakeholders.

Job Responsibilities

The primary responsibilities of the Sr. Business Analyst IT position include:  

  • Provide analytical and IT support for various tools and applications currently utilized by the SRS team,  including loss calculators, transmission billing, PCI, OATI and Pi Vision. 
  • Provide project management and technical support on pending and future industry changes including EDAM/ Markets +, MOD-030 and FERC Order 881.   
  • Participate in various industry forums related to existing SRS job functions, including in-person meetings, conference calls and webinars with representatives from WECC, NAESB, WestTrans & OATI.
  • Support continuous improvement of IT systems while ensuring alignment with current business processes and the SRP Open Access Transmission Tariff (OATT). 
  • Provide support for the Transmission Billing module in PCI, including end-user training, maintaining system documentation, developing reports, modifying existing reports and managing invoices.   
  • Serve as an administrator for OATI, PCI – Transmission Billing, OASIS and other SRS applications. 
  • Analyze proposed regulatory and policy changes to assess impacts on system operations and develop, coordinate and execute plans to adapt to SRP’s operational strategies, as necessary.
  • Develop analyses, position papers, comments and other work products that support the interests of SRP, as well as provide presentations to effectively inform SRP decision-makers of developing market trends.
  • Coordinate, track and lead periodic reviews of the SRP OATT and related Business Practices.  Collaborate with internal teams, as needed, to develop and document new Business Practices.  

Education

Completion of a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution that prepares the employee for the assignment.

Experience

Promotion to Level 2 requires a minimum of two years experience at Level 1 and demonstrated capability to perform advanced and more difficult work as determined by the supervisor. Promotion to Senior Level requires a minimum of 3 years experience at Level 2, is fully competent in all aspects of functional area of assignment and as such would be recognized as a specialist in area of assignment and may have periodic or occasional lead responsibilities.

SRP currently offers a hybrid workplace, which allows employees whose jobs can be performed remotely, and who have sufficient technical capability, to telework up to three days per week. Although teleworking is available, all employees must live and work in Arizona.
