Summary

SRP is recruiting for a Community Activation Intern. The ideal candidate should be committed to a minimum of a year with the potential of an extension, depending on performance. The immediate business need is for a minimum workweek of 20-25 hours, with additional weekend hours based on the department’s needs. Event season can create 40+ working hours in a week, schedule allowing. The candidate should be in college studying the disciplines of communications, marketing, special events, business, or other related fields.  

 

This internship is not offering a summer-only schedule and is seeking a student available to work a year-around internship, minimum of one year.   

What You'll Do

  • Support various strategists throughout the planning process of events, including gathering event information, researching best practices and product innovation.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects with completing priorities and following written or oral instructions.
  • Interact with a variety of departments within SRP, as well as with customers and corporate partners.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of SRP programs and initiatives and educate customers at community events.
  • Assist with event set-up and tear-down, including packing event materials, loading/unloading signage and display materials, and other tasks as needed.
  • Perform office duties, including inventory tracking, organizing event materials, deliveries and other activities as assigned.
  • Local travel required.
  • Must be able to lift/move 25+ pounds regularly.

What It Takes To Succeed

  • College sophomore or junior preferred

 

Eligibility:

  • To be eligible for the Student Intern Program at SRP, the employee must be actively enrolled in a minimum of six (6) credit hours that are college level (100) or above over the course of a regular semester and must be working towards a degree from an accredited college or university.
  • For an accelerated program, the student must be enrolled in six credit hours in the equivalent of a traditional semester.
  • Pay rate is $18.75 per hour for an undergraduate intern and $20.80 per hour for a graduate intern.

Experience

  • Proficient working in Microsoft Office Suite and Outlook
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Communicate to customers in professional & knowledgeable manner.
  • Flexible and willing to step in and provide hands-on assistance as needed.
  • Good self-discipline, accountability, and responsibility to work environment.
  • Able to gather comprehensive information to support decision-making.
  • Support and represent SRP in a professional manner at all times.
  • Adaptable to interpersonal style to suit different people or situations.
  • Experience and/or interest in developing skills related to corporate events.

Education

College level coursework (100+) from an accredited institution will be evaluated on an individual basis according to the skill/level to determine if applicable to the position by management.

 

Hybrid Workplace

SRP currently offers a hybrid workplace, which allows employees whose jobs can be performed remotely, and who have sufficient technical capability, to telework up to three days per week. Although teleworking is available, all employees must live and work in Arizona. We are taking steps to protect the health and well-being of all team members, and by following a number of health and safety protocols, to reduce the risk of the coronavirus (COVID-19).
