Job Brief

The successful candidate will assist the Facilities Construction team with a variety of assignments. This position provides the opportunity to learn about the fundamentals of Project Management methodologies and the important role the Project Manager plays in leading successful projects. Additional duties include assisting a SR. Project Manager with scope development, producing RFP's for design and construction, project planning, contractor administration, and coordinating construction activities. This position gives the individual an opportunity to acquire knowledge of architecture and building systems.

Job Responsibilities

  • Works with internal stakeholders, designers, engineers and technicians to develop scope of work documents for various facilities projects.
  • Assists with the procurement and award of design and construction contracts per procurement guidelines.
  • Assists with maintaining and verifying that project activities are performed to owner's standards and specifications.
  • Proposes and implements schedules to complete a variety of small design and construction projects and reports on the progress.
  • Coordinates construction activities on small projects including construction administration, project inspections, punchlist completion, and formal project close out.
  • Supports Sr. Project Managers on projects as needed.


College level coursework (100+) from an accredited institution will be evaluated on an individual basis according to the skill/level to determine if applicable to the position by management.

Additional Information


  • Experience and/or interest in developing skills in design and construction related to building systems, interior remodels, and/or architecture
  • Willingness to learn and be taught by an experienced project management professional
  • Exceptional customer service and people skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Ability to work in a team environment involving multiple internal departments and external resources to bring all parties together to generate decisions for project success
  • Exceptional working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.


Additional Information Continued:

  • It is preferred that the candidate be seeking a degree in project management, construction management, business, architecture, mechanical or electrical engineering.
  • This is a paid opportunity for a student working a minimum of 15 hours per week. However, work hours and schedules may fluctuate based on departmental needs.
  • Pay is dependent upon the number of college credit hours completed with a grade of "C" or better.
  • Applicant must be enrolled and attending a minimum of six (6) college credits per semester.

Employees with jobs that can be performed remotely and who have sufficient technical capability to do so are being directed to work from home.
