Job Brief

SRP is seeking an experienced transactional attorney to join our in-house legal team. This attorney will provide practical and sound legal counsel and support that shapes strategic decision-making in the ever-changing electric industry.
The ideal candidate will have significant experience in structuring, negotiating and drafting contracts and other legal documents, and advising clients from a variety of business sectors in connection with complex commercial transactions.

Job Responsibilities

  • Negotiate, draft, and review contracts for multiple business units, including contracts for the provision and procurement of goods and services, software licenses, power purchase agreements, consulting agreements, and non-disclosure agreements.
  • Provide strategic legal advice and counsel to internal clients and executive management on various commercial, financial, and other transactional activities.
  • Research, analyze and advise clients with respect to the interpretation and enforcement of contracts and the management of contractual risk.
  • Provide legal support in a broad range of areas, such as corporate governance, state tax, compliance, election administration, legislative matters, and the performance of statutory processes and responsibilities.
  • Assist in the preparation and interpretation of business policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate closely with legal colleagues on the analysis and resolution of novel legal issues.

Completion of a Juris Doctor (JD ) from an accredited institution.


Requires a minimum of four years of relevant transactional legal experience, gained in-house or in a law firm.

Additional Information

  • Successful candidate must be admitted to practice law, and in good standing, in the current state of practice; if not Arizona, able to gain admission in Arizona within 6 months of employment.
  • Experience in the areas of corporate governance and election law would be highly valued.

SRP currently offers a hybrid workplace, which allows employees whose jobs can be performed remotely, and who have sufficient technical capability, to telework up to three days per week. Although part-time teleworking is available, all employees must live and work in Arizona.
