Job Brief

This position is responsible for application lifecycle management of both in house developed and vendor purchased systems and applications in direct support of SRP Customer Operations.  This includes but is not limited to both distributed and mainframe programs and applications that manage the process for customer bill print. This position will require the individual to communicate status to, and work in conjunction with client stakeholders, project managers, team members and management ensuring solutions provide system stability by following best practices and SRP change control and support methodologies.

Job Responsibilities

  • Performs IT work in Software Development, Database Administration, Data Warehouse Analysis, Systems Programming, Network Engineering, Data Storage, or Unified Communications & Messaging
  • Performs as a Project Leader and is responsible for planning, scheduling and monitoring projects
  • Work collaboratively with departments to effectively communicate progress and performance
  • Identify trends and root causes of challenges, determines solutions, and makes recommendations for management consideration
  • Applies SRP and IT processes/methods, practices and techniques to deliver solutions

Education

Completion of a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution that prepares the employee for the assignment.

Experience

Promotion to Level 2 requires a minimum of two years of experience at Level 1; demonstrated capability to perform advanced and more difficult work as determined by the supervisor. Promotion to Senior Level requires a minimum of three-years of experience at Level 2; is fully competent in all aspects of functional area of assignment and as such would be recognized as a specialist in area of assignment and may have periodic or occasional lead responsibilities.

Additional Information

Responsible for planning, scheduling, and monitoring for projects. Occasional contacts with vendors of software, equipment and services. Occasional travel to industry organizational functions and SRP facilities. Ability to work effectively using the services of various organizational groups within SRP. Depending on assignment, frequent requirement to work with confidential data such as payroll and employee information.

Microsoft SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) and SQL Server knowledge.
C#.NET programming knowledge.
Distributed application support knowledge with preference for the FIS Designer/Intuition applications.
OpenText InfoArchive, COBOL knowledge in addition to DB2, JCL, REXX, and Control-M is a plus.
Strong and oral/written communication skills are required.
Maintains historical records by documenting system software changes and revisions.
Ensures peak software/system performance by monitoring software usage.
Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Ability to adapt to changing roles and changing priorities
