Job Brief

Manage and provide direction to a team of analysts responsible for supporting SRP’s investment decision-making processes. Oversee the administration of SRP’s capital prioritization and management programs. Oversee financial analysis in support of major projects within Financial Services area, including Pricing, Financial Planning, Energy Risk Management and Treasury initiatives. Provide SRP Capital Governance Committee, Treasurer, Chief Financial Executive, and GM Staff key financial data and statistics to develop and administer financial goals and objectives. Oversee the development of qualitative and quantitative economic and financial analyses for corporate-wide use.

Job Responsibilities

  • Provide analytical support to Financial Services management for the administration of SRP’s capital prioritization program through the development of economic value frameworks, business case evaluation, designing and conducting corporate training, and creation of reports and analysis to support the Capital Governance Committee.
  • Responsible for the daily tasks of the group by aligning projects with business goals, managing employees, achieving milestones, and communicating with upper management.
  • Oversee the modeling of multiple capital portfolios to identify optimized solutions that create value, meet strategic goals, and minimize overall risk.
  • Oversee the development of frameworks and templates for business cases in support of investment decisions to be implemented for standard corporate wide use. 
  • Provide training and consultation on the use of value frameworks and related tools for capital prioritization. 
  • Provide consulting to the organizations for business case development.
  • Lead the establishment and implementation of key financial metrics in support of investment decision-making processes, including corporate discount rate, weighted average cost of capital, and related concepts. 
  • Oversee analytical support as needed throughout the Financial Services organization. Activities could include cash flow analysis, liquidity calculations, long term borrowing plans, price process and borrowing process support.
  • Oversee the analysis of historical financial performance, operations and market information using business software packages and statistical software tools, and develop models to predict future outcomes. Work often requires the analysis of large datasets using C55, SAP, Excel, MIDAS or SAS modeling.
  • Provide reports for management on the overall performance of segments and develop metrics to measure various characteristics of the business.
  • Support and guide the development of financial analyses, models, and systems based on operational, economic, market and internal data to develop financial scenarios, plans, and budgets, and to quantify and report SRP financial performance.
     

Education

Completion of a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution that prepares the employee for the assignment.

Experience

Minimum of 8 years cumulative and progressive experience.

Additional Information

  • Prefer Master’s Degree and experience in Finance, Economics, Engineering, Mathematics, or related fields. 
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments concurrently under stress.
  • Supervise, develop, and provide feedback and direction to the team.
  • Ability to get along with all levels of employees within SRP.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to provide accurate, timely and concrete analysis and recommendations to executive management.
  • Knowledge of electric utility economics.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills.
  • Knowledge of SRP’s corporate goals and philosophies.
  • Knowledge of capital investment analyses including net present value, internal rate of return, payback and cost-benefit ratio along with measuring capital risk and uncertainty.
  • Knowledge of national, regional and local economies.
