Job Brief

ERC Program Principal Analyst is responsible for Electric Reliability Compliance (ERC) departmental initiatives that support the ERC program and serves as the Subject Matter Expert to the ERC department on NERC, WECC, and ERC processes.

Job Responsibilities

  • Responsible for all aspects of key ERC Program initiatives and processes.
  • Serves as a consultant and/or advisor to ERC staff on the NERC Electric Reliability Standards as well as NERC, WECC, and internal ERC processes.
  • Responsible for management of the NERC Standard Development process.
  • Provide consistent interpretation of NERC standard requirement language and WECC compliance monitoring approaches and work with ERC staff and business unit personnel to apply processes, procedures, and technology to ensure compliance.
  • Communicate relevant and pertinent NERC compliance and ERC program information in a clear and concise manner, and conduct presentations or compliance process training for the business units as necessary.
  • Participate in industry and trade groups to share information and benchmark the ERC program against best practices and differing interpretations.



Completion of a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution plus an additional 18 graduate level college credits in an area of specialty.


Minimum of 10 years cumulative and progressive post-degree experience


Additional Information

•    Knowledge of NERC Electric Reliability standards is preferred. Similar information security, privacy, or regulatory standards may be accepted.
•    Experience with the development and implementation of a risk management or internal controls framework.
•    Experience with the development and tracking of team performance metrics.
•    Experience leading or managing teams.
•    Project management, analysis, assessment, and investigation skills to determine recommendations or plans of action.
•    Experience in successfully leading projects/initiatives with multiple stakeholders and/or across multiple business units.
•    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to consult and resolve internal or external compliance issues which may be sensitive in nature.
•    Ability to work with all levels of an organization including people with different styles and backgrounds; ability to work as a member of a team and ability to present alternatives and recommendations.
•    Demonstrated experience using good oral and written communication skills and the ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
