Job Brief

Provides physical protection for SRP employees, property, and members of the general public.  Protection will be provided against criminal acts, fire & accidents.  Such protection will be provided in a manner to ensure the integrity of operations and minimize loss to/liability of SRP.

Job Responsibilities

  • Detects and prevents criminal acts, fires and safety hazards that could effect SRP employees and operations, or cause SRP liability.
  • Enforces SRP policies relative to security, safety and fire prevention.
  • Apprehends perpetrators of criminal acts on SRP property and determines the immediate disposition of same.
  • Conducts preliminary investigations of criminal acts, fires and accidents occurring on SRP property.
  • Prepares and submits detailed reports of daily activities and actions taken relative to criminal acts, fires and accidents.
  • Determines the proper response to alarms, activities, and events monitored by or reported to the Security Operations Center (SOC).
  • Controls the admission and departure of persons and vehicles to and from Project properties.
  • Trains and directs contract security personnel assigned to SRP facilities.
  • Deals directly with members of the general public, government officials and foreign dignitaries seeking access to SRP property.
  • Recommends improvements in:  Security procedures, physical security and fire and safety measures of project facilities.
  • Carries out all duties with quality customer service.
  • Deals with constantly changing variety of circumstances and personalities in a polite, objective and professional manner.
  • May perform other duties, as assigned.


High School, GED or Equivalent.
Minimum of 15 college credits (100+) from an accredited institution that prepares the employee for the assignment.


Minimum 1 year of experience.  Security Guard, Police Officer, Military Police or experience applicable to the position.

Additional Information

Knowledge of a security guard's legal authority under Arizona Statues (ARS Titles 13 & 38).
Knowledge of SRP policies and procedures relative to security, safety and fire prevention.
Skilled in procedures of investigation.
Skilled in methods of crowd and traffic control.
Skilled in writing and preparing detailed reports.
Skilled in verbal communications with all manner of individuals.
Ability to determine the effective manner to accomplish routine shift duties with minimum on-site supervision.
Ability to apply common sense and properly react to a variety of circumstances and personalities.
Ability to react properly during the initial stages of various emergency situations.
Ability to effectively meet all required responsibilities in an objective and professional manner.
Skilled in methods of crowd and traffic control
Working knowledge of SRP Security software and systems, to include C-Cure Access Control, NICE-CCTV Systems, SIRS, and CITRIX.
