Job Brief

The Sr. Copywriter is responsible for creating engaging and memorable copy for ad campaigns and marketing materials aimed at SRP customers and community members. Together with our Creative Services team, the Senior Copywriter pushes the boundaries of creative excellence, while ensuring consistent use of SRP's voice and tone across campaigns and platforms. They take a lead role in creating compelling copy, content and campaigns that elevate the SRP brand and improve our customers' experience. The Senior Copywriter also assists with creating customer and employee communications as needed.

Completion of a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution that prepares the employee for the assignment.

Job Responsibilities

  • Gain a deep understanding of SRP's products, services and target audiences. Collaborate with designers, directors and digital strategists to develop clear and compelling campaigns and marketing materials that drive business success. 
  • Play an integral role in developing strategic and engaging creative concepts.  
  • Develop breakthrough copy that brings strong ideas to life across all media channels (TV, radio, print, web, email, etc.). 
  • Transform technical subject matter into copy that educates, delights and engages audiences. 
  • Present creative to internal partners. 
  • Work with other copywriters to ensure voice and tone is consistent across all external SRP campaigns, communications and platforms.
  • Write customer and employee communications, as needed, in a clear and concise manner.
  • Carefully review copy for spelling, grammar, punctuation, readability, voice and tone. 
  • Deliver copy on time.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Additional Information

Experience preferred:

  • Minimum of 5 years of agency setting or related experience.
  • Prior experience developing and writing creative advertising campaigns.
  • Bachelor's degree in communications, English, advertising or journalism.


Desired Skills:

  • Strong conceptual and strategic thinker with a passion for the written word and creative process.
  • Exceptional writing skills spanning traditional media (TV, radio and print) and digital media (web content, banner ads, email, etc.). 
  • Takes a customer-centric approach to writing; considers readability and usability. Experience with UX writing a plus. 
  • Understands how to craft a story. Gets irony and clever wordplay. Can spot corny puns and poor marketing language.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written (master of spelling, grammar and punctuation).
  • Has experience working with cross-functional teams. Would enjoy and contribute to a creative and collaborative team environment.


SRP offers a hybrid workplace, which allows employees whose jobs can be performed remotely, and who have sufficient technical capability, to telework up to three days per week. Although part-time teleworking is available, all employees must live and work in Arizona.
