Summary
Perform settlement functions for SRP front office physical electric trading operations. Activities for settlement include running interfaces between Open Access Technologies International (OATI) and SAP software as part of month end close processes, validating physical electric sale and purchase volumes and pricing and invoicing/paying counterparties per monthly settlement outcome. Additional job duties include preparing and entering monthly journal entries as well as administering billing aspects of contract provisions related to Power Purchase Agreements.
What You'll Do
- Apply industry and energy marketing terminology and processes to aid in monthly checkout.
- Manage and cultivate working relationships with settlement peers at other utilities to ensure timely and accurate settlement.
- On a monthly basis, create purchase and sales orders for each counterparty to facilitate invoices and payment receipts.
- Use SAP reporting to ensure counterparty invoices have been paid timely and accurately.
- Work closely and regularly with SRP front office after-the-fact traders and schedulers to resolve energy curtailments and bookouts using OATI software.
- Administer all billing aspects of SRP PPA contracts. Ensure contract clauses are followed accurately and timely.
- Assist in other departmental projects as required for data gathering, input and organization.
- Prepare and create journal entries in SAP for management review.
- Perform research as necessary on physical electric transactions to assist management as well as other departments throughout SRP.
- Partner with SRP IT analysts to resolve system issues impeding PAS workflows.
- Prepare and create various MWh/Dollar centric reports for SRP consumption.
- Provide assistance to internal and external auditors as various audits are performed on PAS work.
What It Takes To Succeed
- Knowledge of and experience working with SAP, PCI, OATI as well as PC desktop applications (Access, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
- Utility markets (preferably Western markets) or operational experience is preferred but not required.
- General understanding of SRP Open Access Transmission Tariff (OATT) rate structure & SRP retail rate pricing structure.
- Someone who enjoys working with others in a team environment and dealing with sensitive and complex issues at all levels of the organization; excellent listener, communicator and planner/organizer, high degree of initiative; self-motivation and willingness to learn; positive/professional approach; ability to provide quality and timely service.
Experience
At job entry, placement will be determined by a review of college transcripts and related work experience.
A minimum of 6 years of related experience is required for the senior level.
Once placed into the job family, an employee may become eligible for promotion by demonstrating the ability to perform advanced and more difficult work as determined by their management and meeting experience requirements.
Education
Hybrid Workplace
SRP currently offers a hybrid workplace, which allows employees whose jobs can be performed remotely, and who have sufficient technical capability, to telework up to three days per week. Although teleworking is available, all employees must live and work in Arizona.
