Job Brief

SRP is seeking a senior content and marketing strategist to lead our executive communications, investor relations, public information, and diversity equity and inclusion (DEI) efforts. This candidate should have extensive account management, strategic and crisis communications, public relations, and/or other relevant experience. Strategist will join an experienced team that leads efforts to translate SRP's brand platform and vision into strategic communications while creating compelling, relevant, and effective content across all channels and platforms. This strategist will primarily develop messaging alongside communication and marketing plans for key strategic initiatives.  Should be experienced leading projects, working on tight timelines, coordinating multiple approvals with various stakeholders, and moving key issues forward independently. Strategist collaborates heavily with internal experts, executive leadership, creative services, channel owners, community partnerships/events teams, project management and media relations groups to develop brand voice and tone and messaging consistency throughout all customer and community experiences.  

Job Responsibilities

  • Translate SRP brand platform and overall customer and community segment strategies into strategic communications messages, engaging content and digital/traditional experiences that are relevant for SRP audiences and builds the SRP brand. 
  • Oversee collaborative content development efforts across several teams including creation of messaging hierarchy and journeys, content and communications plans, channel distribution and media plans, and strong creative briefs. 
  • Advise on corporate communication approaches related to current and shifting public sentiment.  
  • Provide strong account/project management skills, work with executive teams and other key stakeholders to ensure organizational needs and KPIs are met.  
  • Employ deep expertise and in-depth understanding of integrated, cross-vehicle marketing and communications planning to craft executional plans and oversee that deliver against program/project objectives. 
  • Develop and govern SRP's overarching omni-channel editorial calendar and manage related media/advertising mix. 
  • Manage relationships with internal and external partners (agency, sponsorships, strategic partnerships) to achieve advertising and marketing goals within budget and on deadline. 
  • Other duties as assigned. 

Education

Completion of a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution that prepares the employee for the assignment.

Experience

Minimum of 5 years of experience in integrated marketing planning/content marketing experience preferred.

  • Role will work fully remotely until January 2022, then a 2-days-a-week-in-office hybrid working position. 
  • Must have experience working with complex organizations with multiple approval structures. 
  • Should demonstrate understanding of integrated marketing planning and analytics that includes traditional and digital advertising. 
  • Should exhibit exceptional emotional intelligence, business savvy and tact. Demonstrated ability to drive projects, motivate project teams and negotiate conflict  
  • Should exhibit strong project management skills including budget planning and resource management. 
  • Should demonstrate exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to: write clearly, succinctly and correctly; write convincingly in an engaging and expressive manner; avoid unnecessary use of jargon or complicated language and write in a well-structured and logical way.  
  • Should have strong presentation skills with an ability to report complex analytics and strategy information to audiences at all levels of the organization. 
  • Demonstrated success in client management including presenting strategies, negotiating timelines and delivering constructive feedback to creative teams and clients. 
  • Should have knowledge of evolving industry market, economic & environmental factors. 
  • Can apply integrated marketing, communication planning, audience messaging development strategic communication strategy best practices. 
  • Must be creative and innovative in employing marketing and communications strategies.
