Summary

Candidate will be part of the Integrated Planning team whose objective is to coordinate system-wide planning to deliver reliable, affordable, and sustainable power to SRP customers.  The team provides progress updates on corporate-wide Action Plans as part of the Integrated System Plan.  The candidate will work with the Integrated Planning team to develop a dashboard to support action plan documentation, data analysis and reporting.   

 

The candidate must be enrolled in an accredited college or university, preferably in an IT or Engineering related curriculum. The candidate should be taking coursework to develop the skills relevant for this position. 

What You'll Do

  • Design and develop dashboard requirements and workflow process to support action plan documentation, data analysis and reporting. 

  • Data entry, curation, visualization and analysis using Microsoft software products (e.g. Power BI, Excel). 

  • Support the Integrated Planning department for tasks associated with the Integrated System Plan. 

  • Market intelligence research around specific questions as requested by staff.  

  • Help on day-to-day management of Action Plan tracking and related reporting. 

What It Takes To Succeed

Preferred Knowledge and Skills:

  • Skilled with data visualization and Business Intelligence.
  • Skilled in Microsoft Software products (Power BI).
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Ability to communicate well with others and to perform work in a team environment. 
  • Demonstrate a growth mindset and exhibit a collaborative work style. 
  • Possess attention to detail, critical thinking, problem solving in a fast-paced technical setting. 
  • Have a general passion for learning about the energy sector and the transition to low-carbon electricity. 
  • The internship is in Tempe, AZ and will be a mix of in-person and remote based work. 
  • This summer internship may be extended based on work availability. 

 

Pay Structure/Hours: 

  • This is a paid opportunity for a student working a minimum of 15 hours per week. However, work hours and schedules may fluctuate based on departmental needs. 
  • Applicant must be enrolled and attending a minimum of six (6) college credits per semester (100 or higher-level courses). 
  • Pay rate is $18.75 per hour for an undergraduate intern and $20.80 per hour for a graduate intern. 

 

Additional Information: 

  • Degree major in a bachelors or master’s program in a relevant field.


 

 

Education

College level coursework (100+) from an accredited institution will be evaluated on an individual basis according to the skill/level to determine if applicable to the position by management.

 

Hybrid Workplace

SRP currently offers a hybrid workplace, which allows employees whose jobs can be performed remotely, and who have sufficient technical capability, to telework up to three days per week. Although teleworking is available, all employees must live and work in Arizona.
