Job Brief

Assist Engineers by performing technical work consisting of compiling, computing, evaluating, and reporting engineering information. Performs office and/or field technical work, recommends action on plans and procedures, and develops equipment and material specification. Work involves the application of mathematical and technical knowledge gained through training and experience and requires judgment in the execution of assignments. Specific tasks will vary by department and division.

Job Responsibilities

  • Supports the design team with substation construction and maintenance projects with a focus on materials and customer support.
  • Performs project design reviews and WAM estimate reviews with a focus on adherence to standards, materials, special order materials, long lead materials, and identifying low stock items.
  • Attends meetings related to standards, materials logistics, and material availability.
  • Supports procurement team with supply chain issues and resolutions. Works with design and procurement teams to find alternative specifications and/or venders.
  • Coordination with construction crews to understand challenges related to design and/or materials. Communicate challenges to the design team. Work with construction and design teams to find resolutions.
  • Works closely with construction consultants and material handlers to understand project schedules, identify missing materials, and resolve any material related issues.
  • Provides engineering support and technical expertise to other departments.


College level coursework (100+) from an accredited institution will be evaluated on an individual basis according to the skill/level to determine if applicable to the position by management.


Minimum 6 years of related experience required. Promotions are determined by demonstrated capability to perform advanced and more difficult work as determined by management.

Although teleworking is available, all employees must live and work in Arizona.
