Summary
The Transmission Services Senior Manager leads a cross functional team that provides strategic project management and engineering support for key initiatives that impact real-time operations as well as the scheduling and administration of SRP's transmission system capacity. Additionally, this role is responsible for the integration of the open access energy associated with SRP's control area functions, and has the overall accountability for SRP's energy accounting function. The ideal candidate demonstrates exceptional leadership, a commitment to operational excellence, and the ability to collaborate effectively across functions to drive impactful results and advance Transmission and Generation Operations (TGO) long-term strategic objectives.
What You'll Do
• Lead cross-functional and diverse teams to drive the successful execution of strategic initiatives and organizational goals that ensure the bulk electric system is operated in a safe and reliable manner.
• Provide leadership support on high-impact projects that impact operations, including integration of new renewable energy resources into operational processes.
• Coordinate with neighboring utilities, regional entities, and external stakeholders to ensure seamless collaboration and operational alignment.
• Partner with IT/OT teams to plan and implement critical infrastructure and system enhancement projects.
• Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships across internal departments and with external partners to support long-term operational success.
• Stay current on evolving industry standards, regulatory requirements, and emerging technologies relevant to energy operations and renewable integration.
• Represent SRP in industry forums, working groups, and regulatory discussions to advocate for operational interests and ensure compliance.
What It Takes To Succeed
• Proven experience managing cross-functional teams and delivering complex, high-impact projects.
• Strong understanding of energy markets, renewable integration, grid operations, and regulatory environments (e.g., NERC, CAISO, FERC).
• High level knowledge of control center operations including Balancing Authority, Transmission Operations principles, NERC Reliability Standards, compliance techniques, and power system advanced applications.
• Compliance with FERC and SRP "Code of Conduct" confidentiality.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate with internal departments, external partners, and industry organizations.
• Proficiency in project management methodologies and tools.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to analyze complex problems, develop strategic solutions, and drive continuous improvement.
• Self-motivated, adaptable, and eager to learn new technologies and industry trends.
• Experience working with Operational Technology (OT) systems and supporting real-time operations is highly desirable.
• Possess and maintain a NERC Reliability Coordinator (RC) level certification either before employment or within 12 months of hire date. This certification helps to ensure that the Senior Manager understands the policies and rules governing the operation of the interconnection power system

SRP currently offers a hybrid workplace, which allows employees whose jobs can be performed remotely, and who have sufficient technical capability, to telework up to three days per week. Although teleworking is available, all employees must live and work in Arizona.
