Summary

Performs and supervises work of generating, transmission, and distribution SCADA database work, display development, and end-to-end verification.

What You'll Do

  • Plans, schedules, assigns manpower and monitors job progress/status within unit to maintain quality and timeliness of job commitments. 
  • Maintains job coordination with other departments, divisions, units and with outside entities to produce high-quality work in an economic manner. 
  • Coordinates SCADA support projects and provides performance support to engineering technicians.
  • Implements use of SCADA applications to maximum utilization of resources and assists subordinates in work when workload requires. 
  • Complies and presents verbal and written reports on unit workload and existing or potential problems, and provides recommended solutions. 
  • Designs and maintains records to determine future workload, together with manpower requirements for formulations of section budget.
  • Prepares annual budget for section and submits required justification for TO and/or budget increase.
  • Supervises and reviews performance of subordinates, and recommends changes in duties, job status, and/or salary at unit level. 
  • Trains and cross-trains employees, directly and through monitored delegation, to qualify subordinates in the various unit activities.
  • Aids engineers and/or other personnel in other sections with job problems related to work areas, as required.

What It Takes To Succeed

Experience as section supervisor, engineer technician, SCADA technician.

Experience

A minimum of 4 years experience related experience. Experience as a section supervisor, engineering technician, or SCADA technician preferred. 

Education

Completion of an associate's degree, apprenticeship, or 60 college credit hours from an accredited institution that prepares the employee for the assignment.

 

Hybrid Workplace

SRP currently offers a hybrid workplace, which allows employees whose jobs can be performed remotely, and who have sufficient technical capability, to telework up to three days per week. Although teleworking is available, all employees must live and work in Arizona. We are taking steps to protect the health and well-being of all team members, and by following a number of health and safety protocols, to reduce the risk of the coronavirus (COVID-19).
