Summary

Assist Engineers by performing technical work consisting of compiling, computing, evaluating, and reporting engineering information. Performs office and/or field technical work, recommends action on plans and procedures, and develops equipment and material specification. Work involves the application of mathematical and technical knowledge gained through training and experience and requires judgment in the execution of assignments. Specific tasks will vary by department and division.

What You'll Do

  • Supports the engineering staff in development of new computer programs and modification of existing programs.
  • Writes, tests, and maintains computer programs for various uses.
  • Assists engineers and analysts in the preparation and analysis of system planning studies, reports and presentations.
  • Is project leader for projects, has primary design responsibility, and coordinates efforts of other SRP groups.
  • Contacts outside agencies, such as utilities, government agencies, developers, engineers, manufactures, vendors and others.
  • Provides technical assistance on special projects as required by supervision.
  • Assists engineers in the preparation and analysis, studies, reports and presentations.
  • Provides engineering support and technical expertise to other departments.
  • Ability to perform as a project leader and responsible for planning, scheduling and monitoring projects.
  • Work collaboratively with other departments to accomplish cross departmental work efforts, effectively communicate progress and performance.
  • Identify trends and root causes of challenges, determines solutions, and makes recommendations for management consideration.
  • Analyze and review department business systems and develop requirements for process improvements.
  • Provide administrative support for PAC Services Tools (Vendor & Internally developed e.g. PASTE, Elements & Port Switch Databases).
  • Administrative experience using Cascade (Asset Management System) and Powerbase (System Protection Database).
  • Have a strong and comprehensive understanding of Asset Management concepts.
  • Ability to support device configurations, firmware installations and upgrades.

Experience

Minimum 6 years of related experience required. Promotions are determined by demonstrated capability to perform advanced and more difficult work as determined by management.

Education

College level coursework (100+) from an accredited institution will be evaluated on an individual basis according to the skill/level to determine if applicable to the position by management.

 

Hybrid Workplace

SRP currently offers a hybrid workplace, which allows employees whose jobs can be performed remotely, and who have sufficient technical capability, to telework up to three days per week. Although teleworking is available, all employees must live and work in Arizona. We are taking steps to protect the health and well-being of all team members, and by following a number of health and safety protocols, to reduce the risk of the coronavirus (COVID-19).
