Summary
The OT Grid Domain Architect will serve as the senior technical leader responsible for defining and guiding the architecture of SRP's operational technology systems that support grid operations. This role focuses on ensuring the reliability, resiliency, and long‑term scalability of our OT ecosystem.
The ideal candidate brings deep experience in complex OT environments, strong architectural leadership, and the ability to collaborate across OT Applications, OT Infrastructure, Grid Operations, Cyber security, Enterprise Architecture, and vendor partners.
What You'll Do
Domain Architecture Leadership
- Lead the architecture vision, strategy, and roadmap for OT grid systems, ensuring alignment with SRP's enterprise and cyber-security architecture, enterprise and OT Standards and Policies, and long-term operational needs.
- Develop and maintain architecture frameworks, standards, guidelines, and reference models for OT environments.
- Ensure the OT domain remains aligned with industry best practices, regulatory requirements, the OT Strategic Plan, and evolving grid modernization technologies.
System & Technology Strategy
- Architect solutions for strategic projects that impact grid operation systems (e.g. ADMS, DER integration, substation virtualization, next generation FAN, and real‑time operational data environments, etc.)
- Provide architectural oversight and direction for major modernization programs and initiatives.
- Evaluate emerging OT, grid, and utility technologies and recommend adoption where they increase reliability, resiliency, or operational value.
- Participate and/or Facilitate in Operational Technology Architecture Committee (OTAC).
Project & Program Support
- Partner closely with OT Applications and OT Infrastructure and other OT, IT, and Cyber security departments to design integrated, secure, and scalable OT system architectures.
- Provide technical leadership for cross‑functional project teams and guide solution architects within the OT domain.
- Ensure system designs consider cyber security, redundancy, latency, real‑time performance, and grid operational requirements.
Collaboration & Governance
- Participate in architecture review processes, architecture governance forums (i.e. OTAC), and standards committees.
- Represent OT interests across enterprise architecture activities and cross‑organizational initiatives.
- Advocate for strong architectural practices and mentor technical teams to build architectural capability within OT.

Hybrid Workplace
SRP currently offers a hybrid workplace, which allows employees whose jobs can be performed remotely, and who have sufficient technical capability, to telework up to three days per week. Although teleworking is available, all employees must live and work in Arizona.
