Summary

With effective supervision, performs semi-skilled work necessary to load, transport and dispense fuels for automotive, construction and aerial equipment at various locations.

What You'll Do

  • Drives a fuel or lubrication service truck for the purpose of dispensing fuel/lubrication into automotive, construction and aerial equipment.
  • Checks and maintains fluid levels necessary for normal equipment operation.
  • Performs all inspections necessary to meet SR, State or Federal requirements for safe operation of a fuel or lubrication tank truck.
  • Operates computerized equipment and monitors product inventories to ensure accuracy of receipts and issues necessary to comply with SRP, State or Federal requirements.
  • Performs bulk fluid loading operations of fluid tank truck.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Maintain an adequate preventive maintenance library.
  • Assists other employees doing related work. Provides coverage to maintain operational requirements due to vacation, sick leave, or as workloads vary.
  • Depending on workload, employees in this job classification may be required to perform duties of other job classifications of equal or lesser pay for which they are qualified within Transportation Services.
  • Is responsible for inspections, adjustment and maintenance of assigned equipment and tools.
  • Effectively operates computerized equipment, e.g. wheel balancers, diagnostic equipment, desktop computers and associated SRP operating systems, e.g. EJ Ward Fuel Management System, SAP, Jet Scan, FASTER etc.
  • Tire Monitoring systems on new equipment (as well as repairing tires)
  • Service and maintain aerial, truck, automotive and support equipment.
  • Use and inspection of shop lifting equipment.
  • Performs preventive maintenance on all automotive, construction and aerial equipment.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Employee must work safely and efficiently in the performance of their job duties.  Must maintain effective working relationships with other employees, customers and the public.   Must have the ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions, and have the ability to accurately and legibly complete applicable paper work.  May be required to work a reasonable amount of overtime.

What It Takes To Succeed

Ability to acquire knowledge of, and comply with Hazardous Waste policies and procedures established by SRP, State for Federal regulations.  Obtain necessary training and certification as required by changing technologies, State and Federal regulations or SRP policies.

Experience

Three years’ experience or equivalent as a light duty mechanic or Utilityman Auto

Education

High School, GED or Equivalent.

Testing and Certifications

Must possess a valid Class 'A' Commercial Driver's License (CDL)

Hybrid Workplace

SRP currently offers a hybrid workplace, which allows employees whose jobs can be performed remotely, and who have sufficient technical capability, to telework up to three days per week. Although teleworking is available, all employees must live and work in Arizona.
