Summary

The IT Quality Assurance (QA) Analyst supports the quality delivery of Enterprise Application projects at SRP.  This role partners with application development teams, system integration teams, and other stakeholders to help execute testing activities that align with the department’s quality assurance practices.

This position is ideal for early-career professionals looking to build foundational QA skills. The Analyst will gain hands-on experience with both manual and automated testing while learning to create test artifacts with guidance and support from more experienced QA team members.

What You'll Do

  • Assist in executing Quality Assurance processes and methodologies to support project deliverables such as Test Plans, Test Cases, Test Scripts, and Test Reports.
  • Participate in functional, system integration (SIT), and user acceptance testing (UAT) activities.
  • Review functional and technical requirements and help translate them into test scenarios and test cases with guidance.
  • Execute test cases (manual and automated), record results, and report defects clearly and accurately.
  • Support day-to-day testing activities, including tracking test progress and learning basic QA metrics.
  • Learn to develop, maintain, and execute automated test scripts; create and execute manual test cases when needed.
  • Gain exposure to Agile and Waterfall software development methodologies.
  • Communicate testing progress, risks, and issues to QA leads and team members.
  • Follow established QA standards, tools, and best practices while actively developing testing and automation skills.
  • Use test management and automation tools such as ALM Quality Center and Tricentis Tosca Commander, with training as needed.

Education

A bachelor's degree relevant to the assignment from an accredited institution is preferred.

Experience

Are ideal candidate will meet the below experience:

 

Level I — Associate: In lieu of a degree, 4 years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience totaling 4 years may be considered.

Additional Requirements and Qualifications

  • 1 to 2 years of Quality Assurance or software testing experience (internships, coursework, or entry-level roles included).
  • Basic understanding of software testing concepts.
  • Willingness to learn test automation tools is preferred.
  • Exposure to test management tools (e.g., ALM/Quality Center) is preferred.
  • Utilities industry knowledge is preferred but not required.

 

Hybrid Workplace

SRP currently offers a hybrid workplace, which allows employees whose jobs can be performed remotely, and who have sufficient technical capability, to telework up to three days per week. Although teleworking is available, all employees must live and work in Arizona.
