Summary
Corporate Audit Services partners with SRP's Board of Directors and management to proactively address the changing business environment. This position includes a variety of work assignments from audit support activities to involvement in the actual phases of planning, fieldwork, and reporting in an audit.
The student intern will work daily scheduled hours based on the department’s needs, with a minimum requirement of 15 hours and up to 40 hours per week maximum.
The selected candidate will be involved in both technical and non-technical tasks. Activities will allow for work to be completed individually as well as in a team environment with opportunity for collaboration with other departments within SRP.
What You'll Do
Technical activities may include:
- Work with internal audit team members completing tasks relating to audit projects including performing risk assessments
- Assist in updating and creating data analytics reports using analytical and presentation software
- Utilize risk assessment tools to assess levels of risk and designing audit procedures to fulfill objectives
- Performing audit procedures, including interviews, observations, inspections, utilizing sampling methods, re-performance of controls, and attribute testing)
- Assist in the development of conclusions and reporting of audit results
Non-Technical tasks may include:
- Assist in maintaining and organizing audit tools and templates
- Update and identify areas for improvement within department processes
- Assist in audit process administration and status reporting
Education
Experience
Selected candidate must be enrolled in college, preferably in an Accounting and/or IT-related curriculum such as Computer Information Systems and have completed coursework to develop skills appropriate for the assignment.
Additional Requirements and Qualifications
- Accounting and Computer Systems aptitude with intense interest in learning

- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, with more emphasis on Excel, PowerPoint and Word
Experience with any of the following is a plus:
- Enterprise accounting systems (SAP, Oracle)
- Data analytics software (ACL, SAS, general report writing)
- SharePoint
- Frameworks such as IPPF, COBIT, NIST
- Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and Auditing Standards
Hybrid Workplace
SRP currently offers a hybrid workplace, which allows employees whose jobs can be performed remotely, and who have sufficient technical capability, to telework up to three days per week. Although teleworking is available, all employees must live and work in Arizona.
