Summary
SRP is seeking a motivated College Intern to support our teams while gaining hands‑on experience in a collaborative, mission‑driven environment. This internship offers students the opportunity to apply classroom knowledge to real‑world projects that support SRP’s commitment to delivering reliable, sustainable water and power services. Interns will work closely with experienced professionals, contribute to meaningful work, and develop technical and professional skills relevant to their field of study. The role is designed to foster learning, teamwork, and innovation while providing exposure to SRP’s operations and culture. This is an excellent opportunity for students who are eager to learn, grow, and make an impact while exploring a future career with SRP.
Study of interest in data, data analytics, information management, data governance, and library services. Willingness to learn technologies. Ability to have written and verbal acumen. Preference towards 1st & 2nd year students as this a a minimum 1 year internship but open to keeping student longer. Preference towards Information Management majors as well.
The student intern will work daily scheduled hours based on the department’s needs, with a minimum requirement of 15 hours and up to 40 hours per week maximum.
What You'll Do
The main responsibilities of the position involve building out our Enterprise Information Catalog.
The project's high level objectives are:
*Become competent in the use of general office productivity software programs including, Microsoft Office Suite, M365, including Teams, SharePoint Online, and Outlook.
*Provide customer service to our business partners as we engage on a variety projects within SRP to build the Enterprise Information Catalog.
*Willingness to learn new technologies/applications that we use: Collibra DIP (Information Catalog), Collibra Data Quality and Observability, Snowflake, PowerBI, Dataiku and Service Now.
Education
Additional Requirements and Qualifications
This position requires the student intern to work a minimum of 25 hours per week between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. Up to 40 work hours are available weekly if the student's school schedule permits. Student Interns MUST be continuously enrolled in a minimum of 6 semester college credit hours (or equivalent) 100 level or higher (exception for Summer Session). Willingness to learn technologies. Demonstrated ablity to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
This position serves as a team member in an entry-level position and works under direct supervision to support the Records and Information Governance (RIG) Department. Individual projects will be assigned to the student intern to enhance learning outcomes.
College level coursework (100+) related to the position from an accredited institution is preferred.
Hybrid Workplace
SRP currently offers a hybrid workplace, which allows employees whose jobs can be performed remotely, and who have sufficient technical capability, to telework up to three days per week. Although teleworking is available, all employees must live and work in Arizona.
