Do you have an interest in service your community in an essential service driven capacity? Look no further, an internship in Strategic Energy Management within SRP is now available.
Join SRP's Strategic Energy Management department in summer 2025 to support our largest commercial and industrial account management. You will be learning from a nationally ranked utility provider's largest account management team on industry best practices. You will gain the ability to comfortably engage and clearly communicate with national, customer corporate energy teams and industry consultants bridging alignment of advanced energy concepts developed by SRP decision makers.
What You'll Do
- 3 days a week Tuesday through Thursday, 24 hours a week.
- Work alongside single point of contact with assigned strategic customers.
- Support in representation of Strategic Energy Management in negotiations, preparation, communication and execution of major initiatives including: renewable energy, sustainability, and customized Full Electric Service Rider agreements and economic development rate agreements.
- Prepare and deliver presentations on behalf of SRP to major SRP customers and industry consultants.
- Analyze Tier 2 customer operations for opportunities to market SRP's current products and services using energy management analyses and problem-solving skills to identify opportunities.
- Assist in coordinating and performing price plan comparisons plus significant load and cost of operation evaluation for customers.
- Observe the art of establishing a track record of engaging with CEOs, CFOs and Corporate Energy Executives of national Fortune 100, Fortune 500 firms and other Arizona businesses.
- Participate in complementary trade groups and business associations in partnership with customers.
- Effectively communicate to customers SRP's Rules & Regulations, Price Plans, Corporate Objectives.
- Closely engage and work with SRP's Economic Development, Grid Integration, Resource Planning, Water Supply, Strategy & Corporate Services, Metering, Substation Design, Government Relations, Corporate Pricing, and others.
Education
Hybrid Workplace
SRP currently offers a hybrid workplace, which allows employees whose jobs can be performed remotely, and who have sufficient technical capability, to telework up to three days per week. Although teleworking is available, all employees must live and work in Arizona.
