Summary
The Supply and Trading Applications team develops and maintains software solutions vital to the operations of the Supply and Trading & Fuels department. The team delivers custom applications and integrates vendor solutions to optimize business processes. Collaboration with ancillary departments, such as Power Accounting Services and Energy Risk Management, is essential in providing specialized reporting and ensuring efficient data analysis.
What You'll Do
Candidates must be enrolled in an accredited college or university, participating in either undergraduate or graduate programs-preferably in analytics, economics, or engineering-related fields. Coursework should be aligned with the skills required for the position.
The student intern will work daily scheduled hours based on the department’s needs, with a minimum requirement of 15 hours and up to 40 hours per week maximum.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze data sources and transform data to support analytics.
- Utilize Data Science tools and techniques, including SQL, Python, and PowerBI.
- Communicate findings through presentations, documentation, roadshows, and data visualizations.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Desired Experience and Skills
- Experience with Excel and Power BI for data visualization.
- Familiarity with Python or R programming languages.
- Experience with Snowflake and SQL Server databases, including queries and data transformation.
Additional Information
- Degree major in a Bachelor's or Master's program in a relevant field is preferred.
- This is a paid internship opportunity with flexible hours, ranging from 15 to 40 hours per week depending on departmental needs.
- The position is based in Tempe, AZ and includes a mix of in-person and remote work.
Additional Requirements and Qualifications
Hybrid Workplace
SRP currently offers a hybrid workplace, which allows employees whose jobs can be performed remotely, and who have sufficient technical capability, to telework up to three days per week. Although teleworking is available, all employees must live and work in Arizona.
