Summary
This role serves as a strategic connector between SRP and impacted community members. With a focus on fostering authentic relationships and advancing corporate objectives, the Senior Community Activation Strategist will lead the relationship building and activation of partnerships/impactful community events. The position requires a dynamic individual who can cultivate meaningful engagement with nonprofit organizations, municipalities and community members.
What You'll Do
- Manage the on-site execution of community-focused events relating to a variety of segments. This is inclusive of power generation, sustainability, energy efficiency, safety, etc.
- Collaborate with internal teams and community partners to plan and execute detailed event strategies tied to corporate sponsorships and nonprofit partnerships. These efforts aim to reach target audiences, engage customers and community members, support corporate objectives, and enhance brand loyalty and customer satisfaction.
- Participate in quarterly planning meetings, budgeting, and reporting of performance metrics.
- Represent SRP in communities and build relationships with local organizations, local municipalities and community leaders
- Document all community support to demonstrate SRP's involvement.
- Continually seeks opportunities to bridge relations with individuals, community groups, and organizations that have been impacted by SRP projects in an effort to ensure future positive relations. It is our goal to create the ability to walk back through the door and approach these customers with these projects that will be impactful again in the future.
What It Takes To Succeed
- Ability to perform under pressure, manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines while maintaining strong attention to detail.
- Working knowledge of the electric utility industry is preferred.
- Due to the nature of these responsibilities, flexibility is essential for irregular workdays/hours per calendar week and being available at any time to address urgent event needs that are escalated to this position.
- Considerable local travel is required, with occasional overnight travel.
- Must be able to keep their composure in front of the public, often in confrontational and adversarial circumstances.
- Work often impacts other department's budgets and needs to be conscientiuos of project expenses.
- The majority of customer contacts are outside of SRP and it is our core responsibility to maintain positive customer relations.
Experience
• For a Level 1 (Associate), a minimum of no previous years of experience to two years related experience is required (if no degree, four-six years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and related experience totaling four-six years). • For a Level 2 (Journey), a minimum of two years of experience to four years related experience is required (if no degree, six-eight years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and related experience totaling six-eight years). • For a Level 3 (Senior), a minimum of five years of related experience is required (if no degree, nine years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and related experience totaling nine years).
Education
Hybrid Workplace
SRP currently offers a hybrid workplace, which allows employees whose jobs can be performed remotely, and who have sufficient technical capability, to telework up to three days per week. Although teleworking is available, all employees must live and work in Arizona.
