Summary
The primary job function involves identifying, negotiating, and developing partnerships to support SRP's community-focused strategy and strengthen the brand, with a focus on connecting sponsorships to SRP’s corporate programs and initiatives. This includes leading strategic planning and managing community sponsorships, identifying opportunities for community engagement and collaborating with internal and external teams to plan and execute events. The role also involves contributing to quarterly planning, budgeting, and performance metrics, and acting as a liaison for messaging alignment and project coordination.
What You'll Do
- Evaluates local events to identify opportunities that reach target audiences, meet corporate objectives, and enhance customer satisfaction and brand loyalty.
- Negotiates sponsorship contracts and budgets to maximize value, strengthen relationships, and increase brand visibility.
- Develops partnership engagement and tactical plans with the Community Activation department for customer segments, marketing campaigns, sponsorships, and events.
- Coordinates messaging with the Content and Marketing department for event displays and materials.
- Participates and when appropriate leads internal project teams to drive owned projects to completion.
- Collaborates with external partners to ensure strategic and authentic brand representation through sponsorship assets and community events.
- Customizes and optimizes event plans using insights from research, marketing data, and stakeholder input.
- Manages KPI processes for pre-campaign analyses, tracking, and post-campaign analyses for sponsorships and events.
- Represents the Community Engagement team in planning sessions to make project recommendations and allocate resources.
- Builds relationships with internal and external partners, including nonprofits and vendors, to develop creative solutions for conflicting priorities.
What It Takes To Succeed
- Demonstrated skills, knowledge and experience in sponsorship development, event planning, community outreach, project management, and project evaluation.
- Demonstrated success in establishing relationships with community organizations and establishing a support strategy with partners.
- Ability to perform under pressure, manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines while maintaining strong attention to detail.
- Preference given to academic or professional certifications in Sponsorship Development or Event Management.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience with CyberGrants (Bonterra) and/or Workfront or similar project management system is preferred.
- Ability to interact effectively with a wide range of individuals from executive management to hourly personnel.
- Working knowledge of the utility industry is preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, public relations or related degree that prepares an individual to perform the stated job duties preferred.
Experience
• For a Level 1 (Associate), a minimum of no previous years of experience to two years related experience is required (if no degree, four-six years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and related experience totaling four-six years). • For a Level 2 (Journey), a minimum of two years of experience to four years related experience is required (if no degree, six-eight years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and related experience totaling six-eight years). • For a Level 3 (Senior), a minimum of five years of related experience is required (if no degree, nine years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and related experience totaling nine years).
Education
Hybrid Workplace
SRP currently offers a hybrid workplace, which allows employees whose jobs can be performed remotely, and who have sufficient technical capability, to telework up to three days per week. Although teleworking is available, all employees must live and work in Arizona.
