Summary

The Customer Analytics team is dedicated to empowering the Customer Services organization with actionable insights. The team analyzes data, identifies trends, and provides strategic recommendations to enhance customer satisfaction, optimize processes, and drive informed decision-making. The team's mission is to enable exceptional customer experiences through data-driven excellence.

As a Data Engineer on this growing team, your role is to be an expert at understanding SRP's data and then use it to create meaningful models and solutions. You will create and support data models, data flows, virtual models, and algorithms, to solve interesting business problems for data analysts, data scientists, and business users.  The successful candidate will be a sharp coder that can identify patterns in complex data, enjoys making information more accessible and easier to use for analytics, likes to think of clever ways to solve tricky data problems, and loves working with people.  

In this role, you will work alongside other Data Engineers, Data Scientists, Analytics Developers, Business Analysts, and Application Developers.

What You'll Do

•    Turn business requirements into technical requirements, data designs, models, and solutions.
•    Find and understand the correct data sources for a given analysis.
•    Create and maintain optimal data pipeline architecture.
•    Assemble large, complex data sets that meet functional / non-functional business requirements.
•    Build the data pipelines required for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from a wide variety of data sources using modern techniques, platforms, and tools.
•    Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements: automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, re-designing dataflows for greater scalability, etc.
•    Build analytics tools that utilize the data pipeline to provide actionable insights into customer experience, operational efficiency, and other key business performance metrics.
•    Work with stakeholders to assist with data-related technical issues.
•    Create data tools for analytics and data scientist team members that assist them in building and optimizing innovative solutions.

 

What It Takes To Succeed

The successful candidate will possess these capabilities:
•    Experience developing and/or maintaining: data models, ETL/ELT, queries, and data science models in a business analytics, data warehousing or business intelligence setting 
•    Able to translate business needs and data into models that support KPIs, visualizations, or interactive dashboards that influence behavior 
•    Experience with reporting and visualization tools 
•    Curiosity and passion about utilizing analytics and data to solve problems 
•    Willing to ask questions and challenge data accuracy and assumptions 
•    Creative in solution design to achieve impactful, highly functional and supportable solutions 
•    Excellent communication, and presentation skills for a variety of audiences from entry-level employees to executive staff
•    Thrive in an active collaborative team environment

 

Desired Technical Skills: 
•    Development/Query languages: SQL (T-SQL, PL/SQL, SnowSQL, etc.), Python
•    Platforms/Tools: Snowflake, Microsoft Azure, PowerBI, Dataiku, Azure Data Factory, Legacy Databases (SQL Server, DB2, Oracle), SSIS, SSRS
•    Knowledge of SAP and its data-related tools (Datasphere, Analytics Cloud, etc) is a plus


Prefer degree in Computer Sciences, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Analytics, or related discipline.

Experience

Promotion to Level 2 requires a minimum of two years experience at Level 1 and demonstrated capability to perform advanced and more difficult work as determined by the supervisor. Promotion to Senior Level requires a minimum of 3 years experience at Level 2, is fully competent in all aspects of functional area of assignment and as such would be recognized as a specialist in area of assignment and may have periodic or occasional lead responsibilities.

Education

Completion of a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution that prepares the employee for the assignment.

 

Hybrid Workplace

SRP currently offers a hybrid workplace, which allows employees whose jobs can be performed remotely, and who have sufficient technical capability, to telework up to three days per week. Although teleworking is available, all employees must live and work in Arizona. We are taking steps to protect the health and well-being of all team members, and by following a number of health and safety protocols, to reduce the risk of the coronavirus (COVID-19).
