Summary
Reporting to the Senior Director of Insights, Brand Strategy and Communications, the Director of Market Insights & Analytics is responsible for standing up, evolving and maturing the multidisciplinary Market Insights and Analytics team. This Director will be responsible for quantitative and qualitative customer research, cartographic and geospatial analysis, digital marketing analytics, data science and data warehousing. The Director is responsible for driving the voice of the customer, supporting internal and external initiatives with advanced geospatial analysis, marketing analytics data strategy, marketing performance reporting and advanced analytics for the Community, Communications & Marketing (CCM) team.
What You'll Do
- Develop, optimize and socialize a voice of the consumer strategy in order to drive awareness and a customer-focus mindset throughout the organization
- Monitor and alert key stakeholders to trends in voice of the customer metrics including brand health, customer experience, innovation, sustainability and community partnership to influence policy, operations, process and resource decisions
- Provide confidential counsel to SRP business partners and state and federal agencies related to wildlife habitat mitigation, transportation initiatives, water and land rights, permitting, etc.
- Contribute to strategy and roadmap development for advanced analytics within the Marketing organization that aligns with SRP’s digital transformation goals of improving marketing efficiency and results, customer experience and engagement, brand health
- Responsible for developing and driving short and long-term data strategy for the CCM organization including geospatial computing infrastructure and liaise with ITS to improve integrity and availability of data for consumption by marketing and geospatial data scientists
- Lead Marketing analytics organization to deliver innovative data solutions and optimize decision making that utilizes statistical modeling, predictive analytics and machine learning
- Provides leadership for reporting managers and takes an active role in developing staff in order to ensure they remain continuously relevant in the industry—including employee training, mentorship, employee engagement and performance management.
- Provide prioritization and guidance to a highly in-demand team to ensure the quality and timely completion of creative work projects to serve SRP enterprise-wide.
What It Takes To Succeed
A minimum of 10 years of experience leading teams in customer or market research, data analytics, Information Systems or related.

This individual will work cross functionally with other teams to:
- Instill the voice of the customer in processes and policy decisions
- Support GIS initiatives corporately and extend the use of location analytics within CCM
- Develop, align and implement ITS data strategy as they relate to the CCM marketing technology stack
- Oversee advanced marketing analytics capabilities using internal and external resources to help the marketing teams evaluate and optimize their efforts. These capabilities include methods such as multi-touch attribution, marketing mix modeling, statistical modeling and segmentation.
- Provide oversight and mentorship to manage, monitor and adapt / adjust content and paid media plans proactively and in real-time based on learning, sentiment, changes in context and other factors.
- Lead and mentor a team that serves as consultants and internal service team while providing excellent service and partner experience. Strong team leadership and development skills with the demonstrated ability to lead a large team with high volume of work of high complexity, and to allocate resources effectively.
- Demonstrated ability to foster high performance, continuous improvement and operational excellence of a large, interdependent group with multiple functions and engaging with multiple stakeholders.
- This role works in close partnership with all CCM functions, Information Technology Services, Customer Operations, Water Services, Land, Forecasting and Corporate Pricing.
Hybrid Workplace
SRP currently offers a hybrid workplace, which allows employees whose jobs can be performed remotely, and who have sufficient technical capability, to telework up to three days per week. Although teleworking is available, all employees must live and work in Arizona.
