Summary

Responsible for providing financial and insurance risk quantitative analysis and recommendations to the Insurance Program Manager in relation to corporate insurance program structures, risk transfer, and risk mitigation solutions. Performs loss exposure identification, risk analysis, and evaluation of insurance policies and other risk mitigation strategies.  Assists the Insurance Program Manager with general insurance processes such as renewal applications, claims, taxes, communications, and information management.

What You'll Do

  • Provide analysis and recommendations related to loss exposure identification, risk analysis, and risk mitigation. Evaluate SRP corporate and subsidiary insurance program structures, insurance policies, and risk transfer or mitigation solutions to recommend to the Insurance Program Manager.
  • Coordinate collection and analyze data collected from various internal departments to support SRP’s corporate insurance program application process.
  • Administer and maintain filings and reporting requirements for self-insured programs, including workers’ compensation, auto liability, and taxes.
  • Review premium, brokerage fee, bond, and miscellaneous insurance fee invoices for accuracy and process invoices through SRP’s accounting system using appropriate account coding and vendor information.
  • Assist the Insurance Program Manager for SRP Captive Risk Solutions (“SRPCRS”) Board meeting preparations including coordination with Corporate Secretary, Legal Services, Financial Services, other departments, and SRPCRS business partners. Develop submittals, agenda items, and presentation materials for the Board meetings.
  • Assist the Insurance Program Manager with corporate property claims by extracting and validating data, confirming claims data with business units, coordinating with insurance adjusters, and confirming appropriate claim resolution in accordance with policy terms. 
  • Review all insurance binders and policies for accuracy and maintain insurance program documentation and information.
  • Assist the Insurance Program Manager with the review of insurance types, requirements, limits, and certificates of insurance provisions in SRP contracts, including SRP’s Terms and Conditions.
  • Coordinate the annual self-insured tax filing and renewal of SRP’s self-insured Workers’ Compensation Program status with the Industrial Commission of Arizona.
  • Perform other job-related functions as assigned.

Education

A bachelor's degree relevant to the assignment from an accredited institution is preferred.

Experience

This position may be filled at one of three levels outlined below, based on the candidate’s relevant education, experience, or a combination of both that demonstrates the required knowledge, skills, and competencies.

 

Level I — Associate: In lieu of a degree, 4 years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience totaling 4 years may be considered.
Level 2 – Journey: Minimum 2 years of relevant experience required. In lieu of a degree, 6 years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience totaling 6 years may be considered.
Level 3 – Senior: Minimum 5 years of relevant experience required. In lieu of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience totaling 9 years may be considered.

 

Eligibility for advancement (progression) to the next level in the same role is based on overall job performance, mastery of all functional responsibilities, and time in position, as assessed by the supervisor.

Additional Requirements and Qualifications

Prefer three (3) years experience in the field of risk, insurance, finances, or business.

 

Hybrid Workplace

SRP currently offers a hybrid workplace, which allows employees whose jobs can be performed remotely, and who have sufficient technical capability, to telework up to three days per week. Although teleworking is available, all employees must live and work in Arizona.
