Summary
Provide highly skilled, varied, and complex administrative support with minimal supervision to attorneys in their specialized areas of law, which may include water resources, land rights, energy and the environment, litigation, commercial transactions, and corporate governance.
What You'll Do
• Administrative Support: Help attorneys manage dynamic legal practices by organizing materials, tracking deadlines, managing correspondence, expense reporting, conference registration and travel arrangements, and logging continuing legal education requirements;
• Document Preparation: Format and assist in drafting documents, including reports, agreements, pleadings, presentations, Board meeting materials, communications and filings related to attorneys’ court-ordered arbitrations, and subpoena responses;
• Proofreading and Quality Control: Review all written materials to ensure they are accurate, well-formatted, and free of errors through careful proofreading and attention to detail;
• Organization and Scheduling: Coordinate calendars, schedule multi-party meetings, manage incoming documents (both digital and physical), track Board, Council and Committee meetings and associated deadlines, and maintain filing systems;
• Teamwork: Work closely with legal teams and other professionals, contributing to a collaborative and high-performing environment;
• Relationship Building: Foster productive relationships within and outside the organization to help achieve SRP’s mission;
• Problem Solving: Apply creativity to develop and implement effective solutions to legal and administrative challenges; and
• Research: Perform research using resources such as Westlaw, PACER, FERC E-library, state and federal court records, iManage and other sources.
What It Takes To Succeed
- Accountability and Initiative - taking ownership of assigned tasks, completing them efficiently with a high degree of accuracy, and communicating outcomes clearly;
- Strong verbal and written communication skills;
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office products (particularly Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), Adobe and Sharepoint;
- Strong proofreading skills, attention to detail, and exceptional work product;
- A growth mindset, embracing the opportunity to develop new skills, learn from experience, and improve;
- Ability to accurately type 70 words per minute;
- Ability to prioritize and multitask;
- Proficiency in docketing and calendaring pursuant to Arizona and Federal Rules of Civil Procedure beneficial but not required; and
- Familiarity with iManage beneficial but not required.
Experience
At job entry, placement will be determined by a review of college transcripts (if any) and related work experience. A minimum of 6 years of related experience is required for the senior level. Once placed into the job family, an employee may become eligible for promotion by demonstrating the ability to perform advanced and more difficult work as determined by their management and meeting experience requirements.
Education
Hybrid Workplace
SRP currently offers a hybrid workplace, which allows employees whose jobs can be performed remotely, and who have sufficient technical capability, to telework up to three days per week. Although teleworking is available, all employees must live and work in Arizona.
