Summary

The Event and Catering Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of event planning, catering operations, and client relations. This role involves strategic planning, team leadership, budget management, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality events and catering services that meet client expectations.

What You'll Do

•    Supervise and mentor a team of event strategists and catering staff.
•    Lead the strategic planning and execution of various events, including corporate meetings, conferences, weddings, galas, and social gatherings.
•    Foster a positive work environment that promotes teamwork, creativity, and continuous improvement.
•    Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, vendors, suppliers, and industry partners to enhance business opportunities and client satisfaction.
•    Oversee all aspects of catering services for events, ensuring food and beverage operations run smooth.
•    Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation regulations, as well as company policies and procedures.
•    Manage inventory, procurement, and vendor relationships to maintain quality and cost-effectiveness.
•    Develop and manage budgets for events and catering operations, ensuring profitability and cost control.

What It Takes To Succeed

  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team.
  • At least 4 years in a supervisory role.
  • Excellent project management, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Must be capable of using discretion and making independent judgements when handling important and significant matters.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients, vendors, and colleagues.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.  Able to think strategically and creatively, with a willingness to “roll up your sleeves” to ensure flawless execution of events.
  • Able to prioritize work, meet deadlines, achieve goals, and work under pressure in a dynamic and complex environment.
  • Flexible schedule, including availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by event schedules. The ability to stand and walk for extended periods and lift, carry, and move up to 40 lbs.

 

Experience

A minimum of eight years of related experience is required (if no degree, 12 years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and related experience totaling 12 years). 

 

Education

A bachelor’s degree related to the assignment from an accredited institution is preferred.

 

Hybrid Workplace

SRP currently offers a hybrid workplace, which allows employees whose jobs can be performed remotely, and who have sufficient technical capability, to telework up to three days per week. Although teleworking is available, all employees must live and work in Arizona.
