Summary
The Emerging Technologies Manager for Architecture & Governance Services manages a team of technical professionals with a focus on evaluating technology for use within SRP. The Emerging Technologies team promotes enterprise architecture through hands-on research and experimentation, partnering with innovation groups and project teams to transition from concepts to delivery. This position manages and continuously improves the evaluation of new technologies through multiple risk assessment processes, with primary responsibility for Hosted Information Technology (HIT) assessments.
What You'll Do
The Cloud Center of Excellence (CCOE) is a core component of the Emerging Technologies team, maturing the existing policies, standards, and processes that facilitate and govern the adoption of cloud solutions, representing the CCOE to executive leadership.
Providing input into the adoption of Artificial Intelligence technology is a primary responsibility of this position and the Emerging Technologies team. Promoting the capabilities of AI and tools, such as Copilot, and the usage of them in alignment with SRP's Acceptable Use Policy through presentations and training offerings is managed by this position.
The Emerging Technologies team also facilitates the process of SRP Technology Governance. SRP Technology Governance was recently restructured to include a full enterprise technology scope for business-driven decision making for the investment of SRP resources in alignment with the enterprise technology roadmap. This position connects Architecture & Governance Services processes to technology governance.
What It Takes To Succeed
- Responsible for managing staff and activities of the Emerging Technologies Team within Architecture & Governance Services.
- Provides thought leadership for the adoption and deployment of Artificial Intelligence technology in alignment with SRP's Acceptable Use Policy
- Responsible for facilitation of SRP Technology Governance and continuing to mature the processes of governance.
- Provides direction on creating and maintaining policies, standards, and process improvements related to the evaluation and use of cloud solutions that are new to SRP.
- Lead activities to maintain the enterprise cloud strategy and bring together representatives who are directly involved in cloud-related use cases for continual strategy updates.
- Leads the Emerging Technologies team's operational and strategic planning, including fostering innovation, planning projects, and organizing and negotiating allocation of resources.
- Coordinates and facilitates communication between architects across SRP and the Emerging Technologies team members.
- Directs personnel, administers performance feedback, and levels workload across the team.
- Advises, instructs, reviews and trains team members in the performance of their duties.
- Manages and facilitates team member development.
- Develops and matures processes for managing emerging technologies and cloud solutions.

Hybrid Workplace
SRP currently offers a hybrid workplace, which allows employees whose jobs can be performed remotely, and who have sufficient technical capability, to telework up to three days per week. Although teleworking is available, all employees must live and work in Arizona.
