Summary
We are seeking a Manager, Market Research to join SRP’s Strategic Research & Insights (SRI) team. This role is a position responsible for managing, coaching, and developing a team of junior and senior market researchers while ensuring the delivery of high-quality primary and secondary research across the organization. The ideal candidate is a strong people manager and collaborative leader who can partner closely with internal stakeholders and external vendors. This role requires someone who can translate business needs into research direction, elevate team performance, and foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous learning.
What You'll Do
- Manages 3-5 direct reports through performance feedback, mid-year/annual reviews, training, and development to deliver high‑quality primary and secondary research.
- Oversees team workload and resources, translating organizational direction into clear priorities, timelines, and research scope.
- Identifies and supports team training and development to strengthen current skills and build new capabilities needed in a rapidly changing utility industry. Coaches and mentors through regular one‑on‑ones, ongoing feedback, recognition, and disciplinary action when necessary.
- Reviews draft research deliverables, including written reports and slide decks, providing feedback to ensure clear insights, strong writing, and adherence to research best practices.
- Applies internal consulting skills including consultative listening, problem definition, scope negotiation, tradeoff assessment, and internal stakeholder expectation management.
- Partners with external research vendors, providing clear guidance, challenging assumptions, and ensuring deliverables meet quality and methodological standards.
- Demonstrates deep expertise in research methodologies, including market segmentation, customer experience, and voice of the customer tracking studies. In addition, familiarity, and experience with qualitative research methods (e.g., in-depth interviews, focus groups) is a plus.
- Maintains high standards of integrity and audit readiness through strong data governance and research management, delivering cost‑effective and timely research.
- Communicates complex information clearly and concisely to increase relevance and impact.
- Demonstrates a growth mindset in leadership and cross‑functional relationships, with an emphasis on learning, development, and continuous improvement.
- Supports and leads change management across the team and department.
Education
Experience
Minimum 7 years of relevant experience required. In lieu of a degree, 11 years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience totaling 11 years may be considered.

- Provides clear, consistent coaching and feedback; adept at conducting performance reviews, setting expectations, and supporting continuous growth and development.

- Champions a team‑first mindset, promoting collaboration, knowledge sharing, and collective accountability across the organization.
- Possesses deep expertise in qualitative and quantitative market research methodologies.
Hybrid Workplace
SRP currently offers a hybrid workplace, which allows employees whose jobs can be performed remotely, and who have sufficient technical capability, to telework up to three days per week. Although teleworking is available, all employees must live and work in Arizona.
