Summary

The SAP Analyst plays a key role in helping business teams work smarter through reliable, well-designed SAP solutions. Serving as a bridge between business stakeholders and IT, this position translates operational needs into practical system improvements, supports and enhances assigned SAP capabilities, resolves complex application issues, and helps strengthen processes, platform stability, and day-to-day business performance.

What You'll Do

    • Partners with business stakeholders to understand operational needs, defines requirements, evaluates solution options, and recommends SAP-enabled improvements that support business objectives.
    • Designs, configures, tests, implements, and supports SAP functionality and related enterprise applications within assigned areas of responsibility.
    • Analyzes end-to-end processes, data, integration, security, reporting, and system impacts to ensure solutions are scalable, secure, supportable, aligned with enterprise architecture, platform standards, and vendor best practices.
    • Assesses enhancement requests, defines solution approaches, identifies risks and dependencies, estimates impacts, and helps prioritize work based on business value and resource needs.
    • Troubleshoots complex application issues, performs root-cause analysis, coordinates resolution activities, and implements corrective actions to maintain system reliability, platform stability, and business continuity.
    • Collaborates with architects, developers, integration teams, cybersecurity, vendors, support teams, and business partners to deliver system changes, upgrades, releases, and continuous improvements.
    • Develops and maintains functional specifications, solution designs, process flows, technical requirements, test scenarios, user documentation, and other system or process documentation.
    • Supports testing, deployment validation, cutover, production stabilization, knowledge transfer, and post-implementation support for SAP changes and initiatives.
    • Identifies opportunities to simplify, standardize, automate, and improve business processes while maximizing standard SAP functionality and minimizing unnecessary customization.
    • Serves as a subject matter expert for assigned SAP capabilities, communicating functionality, solution options, impacts, risks, and recommendations to technical and non-technical audiences.
    • Ensure project design principles, architectural standards, and platform strategies are consistently applied as solutions evolve through operational support, enhancements, and continuous improvement activities.
    • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Education

A bachelor's degree relevant to the assignment from an accredited institution is preferred.

Experience

This position may be filled at one of three levels outlined below, based on the candidate’s relevant education, experience, or a combination of both that demonstrates the required knowledge, skills, and competencies.

 

Level I — Associate: In lieu of a degree, 4 years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience totaling 4 years may be considered.
Level 2 – Journey: Minimum 2 years of relevant experience required. In lieu of a degree, 6 years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience totaling 6 years may be considered.
Level 3 – Senior: Minimum 5 years of relevant experience required. In lieu of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience totaling 9 years may be considered.

 

Eligibility for advancement (progression) to the next level in the same role is based on overall job performance, mastery of all functional responsibilities, and time in position, as assessed by the supervisor.

Additional Requirements and Qualifications

  • Travel to SRP field and office locations in the Phoenix metro area is required based on business and operational needs.

  • Ability to support solutions throughout their lifecycle, including strategy, design, configuration, implementation, operational support, and continuous improvement.
  • Experience developing functional specifications, solution designs, business requirements, process documentation, test scenarios, and implementation guidance.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze the broader impact of proposed changes and maintain end-to-end solution integrity across connected business capabilities and enterprise applications.
  • Knowledge of enterprise application support practices, including incident management, problem management, change management, testing, release planning, and production support.
  • Ability to support solutions throughout their lifecycle, including strategy, design, configuration, implementation, operational support, and continuous improvement.
  • Ability to evaluate competing business priorities, identify risks and dependencies, and make recommendations that balance business value, operational stability, and long-term maintainability.
  • Knowledge of integrated enterprise environments and the impacts of changes across business processes, applications, data, security, reporting, and system integrations.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify root causes, evaluate alternatives, and recommend practical solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with business stakeholders, technical teams, vendors, and support organizations to achieve shared business outcomes.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage time effectively support multiple initiatives concurrently and organize competing priorities in a dynamic business environment.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality when working with financial, personnel, operational, and other sensitive business information.
  • Preferred certifications include SAP certification in the assigned functional or technical area, SAP S/4HANA or SAP Activate certification, ITIL Foundation, Agile/Scrum certification, Lean Six Sigma, or other relevant technology, process improvement, or project management certifications.

 

Hybrid Workplace

SRP currently offers a hybrid workplace, which allows employees whose jobs can be performed remotely, and who have sufficient technical capability, to telework up to three days per week. Although teleworking is available, all employees must live and work in Arizona.
