Summary

Responsible for managing the corporate One SRP Safety program and Safety Culture Advancement Plan at the direction of the Safety Leadership Team (SLT) to ensure that SRP meets corporate safety culture goals. This position will facilitate SLT Operational Safety Committees (OSCs), and serve as a single point of contact to ensure that the SLT is aware of One SRP Safety Culture Advancement Plan initiative progress.

What You'll Do

•    Manages the corporate One SRP Safety program and Safety Culture Advancement Plan at the direction of the Safety Leadership Team.  Collaborates with the Safety Leadership Team for One SRP Safety and Safety Culture Advancement Plan initiative progress, challenges, and resource requirements.
•    Oversees One SRP Safety program and Safety Culture Advancement Plan initiatives that involve advancements in safety communication, contractor safety management, defined safety culture measures, employee engagement, executive leadership, learning environments, safety education and training, safety investment, safety organization role, safety structure, and frontline leader engagement.
•    Leads the Safety Leadership Team’s Operational Safety Committees to develop risk mitigation and safety strategies to recommend to the Safety Leadership Team.  Operational Safety Committees are cross-functional multiple department teams of multidisciplinary subject matter experts and leaders.
•    Leads the Operational Safety Committees to develop, recommend, and implement action plans for successful completion of One SRP Safety and Safety Culture Advancement Plan initiatives and strategies.  This will include revising procedures, organizational change management and communication plans, developing training, measuring effectiveness, monitoring, and reporting progress.
•    Oversees the Safety Leadership Team’s Frontline Employee Advisory Team members to develop risk mitigation and safety strategies to recommend to the Operational Safety Committees.
•    Collaborates with Operational Safety Committee members and Frontline Employee Advisory Team members that are subject matter experts and analysts from multiple SRP departments to identify safety regulations and safety hazard risks.
•   Responsible for managing, tracking, and reporting the status of the Committees' projects.
•    Develops and maintains close working relationships across SRP business areas.  Maintains relationships with key contacts within SRP to encourage open communication and promote engagement among teams.
•    Develops and maintains close working relationships with industry partners, consultants, and external entities to benchmark and apply best practices to the One SRP Safety program.  

What It Takes To Succeed


•    Experience and ability to lead the work and lead the people of multidepartment teams.
•    Ability to collaborate with diverse internal and external experts regarding SRP business, safety, power and water operations, and risk mitigation.
•    Strong interpersonal and change management skills.
•    Strong oral and written communications skills, including presentation skills.
•    Strong analytical skills and familiarity with policies and procedures.

Experience

A minimum of 10 years of related experience in the fields of safety, power systems, water systems, utilities, or project management. (if no degree, 14 years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and related experience totaling 14 years).

Education

A bachelor’s degree related to the assignment from an accredited institution is preferred.

 

Hybrid Workplace

SRP currently offers a hybrid workplace, which allows employees whose jobs can be performed remotely, and who have sufficient technical capability, to telework up to three days per week. Although teleworking is available, all employees must live and work in Arizona.
