Summary

Under supervision maintains complete and accurate record of all land holdings within the Salt River Reservoir District to determine voter eligibility in elections of Salt River Valley Water Users' Association (the "Association") and the Salt River Project Agricultural Improvement and Power District (the "District"). Provide accurate and timely flow of information to management, elected officials, and the public. Maintain an accurate and complete record of shareholders and electors, such that regular and special elections of the Association and the District can be held promptly and efficiently. Secure, maintain, and manage the official corporate records. Comply with Association and District by-laws and Arizona revised statutes on all regulatory and legal matters.

What You'll Do

  • Analyze and research real property deeds for voter eligibility in Association and District elections.
  • Implement and maintain Geography Information Systems (GIS) fractional acreage database with land ownership information and data.
  • Analyze complex legal descriptions of existing or new property boundaries.
  • Perform property splits and calculate acreage for each parcel representing voting rights to 1/100th degree of accuracy.
  • Assist in the preparation, training, and administration of Association and District elections.
  • Provide training and technical assistance to new personnel.
  • Prepare various job-related manuals, special studies, and reports.
  • Coordinate, prepare, and distribute calendars, notices, agendas, and supporting materials for District and Association Board and Council meetings; process minutes.
  • Administer Board and Council payroll.
  • Prepare and reconcile the Board and Council expense reports.
  • Coordinate, receive, and process subpoenas, garnishments, wage assignments, and levies.
  • Coordinate, receive, and process vendor bids in excess of $250,000.
  • Secure, maintain, and research corporate records, including historical documents, legal contracts, water rights, plat maps, etc.
  • Coordinate legal documents and supporting materials to affect District revenue bond sales, standard electric price adjustments, and commercial paper closings.
  • Other duties as assigned (e.g. purchase supplies, corporate record keeping, etc.).
  • Share GIS applications and mapping procedures with other SRP departments; make recommendation for process improvements.
  • Statistically track and record land ownership information and data.

What It Takes To Succeed

  • Must perform a variety of administrative and technical assignments requiring a high degree of diplomacy, knowledge, accuracy, tact, confidentiality, skill, initiative and dependability in support of the Corporate Secretary's Office, President, management, and the Boards and Councils.
  • Maintain confidential records and files. Must possess a working knowledge of distinctions between the Salt River Valley Water Users' Association and the Salt River Project Agricultural Improvement and Power District.
  • Work must be accurate and timely.
  • Must possess strong computer application skills

Experience

  • At job entry, placement will be determined by a review of college transcripts and related work experience.
  • A minimum of 6 years of related experience is required for the senior level.

Education

College level coursework (100+) related to the position from an accredited institution is preferred.

 

Hybrid Workplace

SRP currently offers a hybrid workplace, which allows employees whose jobs can be performed remotely, and who have sufficient technical capability, to telework up to three days per week. Although teleworking is available, all employees must live and work in Arizona.
