Summary
The Senior Manager of Workspace Technologies leads SRP’s enterprise-wide end-user computing strategy, driving innovation and operational excellence across device lifecycle management, endpoint operations, and support services. This role oversees two core teams—Device & Asset Management and Endpoint Solutions—and is accountable for deploying, maintaining, and securing desktops, laptops, virtual workstations, smartphones, printers, and peripherals.
As a strategic leader within ITS, the senior manager champions digital transformation through automation and self-service initiatives that enhance operational efficiency and elevate the user experience. This role enforces IT standards, cybersecurity policies, and regulatory compliance, while aligning technology solutions with SRP’s business objectives.
The manager collaborates closely with business units to define system requirements, evaluate emerging technologies, and translate IT strategy into actionable plans. Responsibilities include strategic planning, budget oversight, vendor relationship management, and personnel development. By fostering innovation and continuous improvement, this role ensures Workspace Technologies delivers measurable value to SRP’s mission and long-term goals.
Travel to SRP office locations in the Phoenix metro area, to provide on-site support, will be required, based on operational needs and team coverage.
What You'll Do
- Responsible for managing staff and activities of the Workspace Technologies team
- Identify, develop, and implement innovative technologies and processes to advance SRP’s business objectives
- Lead team’s operational and strategic planning, including fostering innovation, planning projects, and organizing and negotiating allocation of resources
- Manage the deployment, maintenance, upgrade and support of PC’s, endpoint operating systems, softphones, smart phones, client hardware, software and peripherals
- Work with stakeholders to define business and system requirements for new technology implementations
- Direct research on potential technological solutions
- Keep current on latest technologies
- Initiate and oversee projects
- Establish and maintain communication with stakeholders regarding pertinent Workspace Technologies activities
- Monitor service levels and corrects performance issues as needed
- Define and implement continuous improvement opportunities
- Work closely with ITS staff, Operational Technology community, Business Unit IT community, and user community to identify opportunities and resolve problems
- Ensure standard operational procedures and HDI practices
- Direct personnel, administers performance feedback, and levels workload across team
- Manage and facilitate employee development
- Handles other duties and projects as assigned.
What It Takes To Succeed

- Understanding of how end-user devices support SRP’s goals
- Knowledge of ITIL processes (Incident Management, Request Fulfilment, Knowledge Management, Change Management, Problem Management, Continuous Service Improvement)
- Ability to lead and communicate the vision for the workspace computing strategy
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences
- Ability to deliver technical solutions to business problems
- Understanding of NERC/CIP standards and compliance solutions
- Demonstrated leadership, teamwork, customer service, and negotiation skills
- Ability to develop and maintain relationships with key vendors and service providers
- Ability to evaluate business needs and IT trends, advocating changes to standards and strategy
- Ability to translate IT strategy into directives and plans for the Workspace Technologies team
- Ability to work collaboratively with business users and IT technical staff

- This position requires a valid driver’s license, as travel to SRP office sites and remote locations within the Phoenix metro area is required to support stakeholder collaboration and address operational needs

Experience
A minimum of eight years cumulative and progressive exempt level professional experience is required (if no degree, 12 years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and related experience totaling 12 years).
Education
Hybrid Workplace
SRP currently offers a hybrid workplace, which allows employees whose jobs can be performed remotely, and who have sufficient technical capability, to telework up to three days per week. Although teleworking is available, all employees must live and work in Arizona.
