Summary

The System Integration Predictive Analyst will support researching and developing analytical tools and assumptions for system-wide planning (load forecasting, customer programs, transmission planning, distribution planning, resource planning). This role will support developing integrated assumptions, managing data environments, leveraging advanced analytics, and aligning data to support SRP’s advancement to integrated system planning. They will support the next iteration of the Integrated System Plan, evaluating opportunities to elevate SRP’s integrating system planning capabilities to meet future challenges. The Analyst will collaborate with various departments to ensure the accuracy and efficiency of the integrated planning processes and contribute to the achievement of strategic goals. Working closely with other departments, this role will improve planning processes, aligning inputs and assumptions, and provide clear insights for decision-making. The position includes creating clear visual representations of data through dashboards and reports to support business decisions. This role is essential to SRP's move toward more efficient and integrated system planning, combining technical skills with practical business needs.

What You'll Do

•    Support the continued development of collaborative planning across the organization and advance SRP to the next level of integrated system planning.
•    Create dashboards and data visualizations to clearly communicate findings and insights from large datasets to non-technical stakeholders.
•    Serve as an expert resource in Data Science tools and techniques, including tools such as Dataiku, SQL, Python, R, PowerBi, Snowflake, etc. Proficient in SQL for querying databases and managing large datasets.
•    Monitor, track, and benchmark industry models and tools, providing insights and recommendations to support SRP’s advancement to integrated system planning.
•    Support the development of a roadmap of how to take SRP’s current planning tools and advance SRP to the future state that is needed to bring SRP to the next level of integrated system planning. 
•    Provide actionable insights and recommendations for business decisions. Utilize business intelligence tools to support analysis, insights, and communication. Apply statistical, analytical, and programming skills to analyze both structured and unstructured data.
•    Develop a database to document assumptions and data inputs for various planning scenarios and sensitivities associated with the Integrated System Plan (ISP), Special Studies, and the Integrated Annual Plan.
•    Prepare and present reports on resource performance, including renewable generation, carbon/water intensity, battery metrics, and system variability.
•    Communicate results and recommendations in a clear & concise manner to all levels within SRP as well as external stakeholders. 
•    Prepares/analyzes/interprets technical reports to executive management using oral and written communication techniques and graphic visual aids.
•    Monitor the evolution of integrated system planning by participating in utility working groups, engaging in EPRI research, and maintaining strategic relationships with utilities that are advancing coordinated planning.
•    Develop solutions to complex, open-ended questions that involve significant uncertainty and ambiguity, with meaningful economic and operational implications.
•    Occasional travel to represent SRP with industry groups, customers, and regulatory and political bodies.

What It Takes To Succeed

  • Experience with power system planning, operations, and economics is preferred  
  • Knowledge of data integration approaches and SRP’s power system planning tools.
  • Positive attitude and excels in a team/collaborative environment.
  • Ability to navigate and thrive in situations with ambiguous or unclear requests, demonstrating strong problem-solving skills and adaptability.
  • Preferred education in applied math, data science, economics, engineering, or IT.  


 

Experience

• For a Level 1 (Associate), a minimum of no previous years of experience to two years related experience is required (if no degree, four-six years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and related experience totaling four-six years).

• For a Level 2 (Journey), a minimum of two years of experience to four years related experience is required (if no degree, six-eight years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and related experience totaling six-eight years).

• For a Level 3 (Senior), a minimum of five years of related experience is required (if no degree, nine years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and related experience totaling nine years).

Education

A bachelor’s degree related to the assignment from an accredited institution is preferred.

 

Hybrid Workplace

SRP currently offers a hybrid workplace, which allows employees whose jobs can be performed remotely, and who have sufficient technical capability, to telework up to three days per week. Although teleworking is available, all employees must live and work in Arizona.
