Summary

The Treasury Administration Technician is responsible for verifying, compiling, and documenting SRP bank accounts, debt, and investments. This role involves reconciling monthly accounting entries in SAP, creating journal entries for month-end accounting close, and supporting the cash application process by matching payments to accounting documents. Additionally, the role includes preparing financial schedules and reports for various internal and external entities, and maintaining departmental compliance and updates to the compliance calendar.

What You'll Do

  • Compile, review, and verify monthly debt and investment activities, providing input for monthly financial statements. Coordinate with team members as needed.
  • Process monthly accounting journal entries and prepare reconciliation reports for related accounts.
  • Post clearing entries for bank account inflows.
  • Perform banking functions such as stop payments, returned payments, and check deposits for bank accounts supporting multiple business areas.
  • Collaborate with various internal departments and external auditors to ensure accurate reporting of SRP financial activities.
  • Support the annual update of the Treasury Department's O&M budget, including cash and non-cash items.
  • Assist with payment processing of departmental invoices.
  • Coordinate with the Treasury team to complete compliance items.
  • Handle additional projects and duties as assigned.

What It Takes To Succeed

  • Strong oral and written communication skills to effectively interact with internal SRP stakeholders, addressing questions and resolving issues with diplomacy.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Capability to meet monthly, quarterly, and yearly deadlines in a timely manner.
  • Significant interaction with external and internal partners to accomplish departmental tasks.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.

 

Experience

Placement at job entry will be determined by a review of college transcripts and related work experience. A minimum of 6 years of related experience is required for the senior level. Eligibility for promotion within the job family is based on demonstrated ability to perform advanced and more complex tasks, as determined by management, and meeting experience requirements.

Education

College level coursework (100+) from an accredited institution will be evaluated on an individual basis according to the skill/level to determine if applicable to the position by management.

 

Hybrid Workplace

SRP currently offers a hybrid workplace, which allows employees whose jobs can be performed remotely, and who have sufficient technical capability, to telework up to three days per week. Although teleworking is available, all employees must live and work in Arizona.
